Which Street Fighter Character do you use?

I barely ever play Street Fighter, but when I do, it's usually as Dhalsim or Guile.
Dhalsim because he's freakin' stretchy, and Guile I guess just 'cause he's a monster. Sonic Boom! (Also his stage music is awesome.)

Yeah, as you can tell, I'm not the biggest fighter fan.

I like Bison (and Vega) because they have multiple aerial attacks that look identical until the last second. That way, it's easy to, for example, fake out the opponent with Bison's Devil Reverse, making them think it's an incoming Head Stomp. Vega, likewise, has a Flying Barcelona Attack which initially looks like a Sky High Claw, and once it becomes apparent that it IS a Flying Barcelona Attack, the opponent still has to guess whether you'll slash or finish with an Izuna Drop. On top of these, they have other moves to make you really able to mix it up, and both have sliding kicks. Guile, on the other hand, has only two specials, but the Flash Kick is so effective that he doesn't really need much else. It counters pretty much everything once you're quick enough with it.

I play Akuma because of his damage output and how safe a lot of his moves are.

s. RH is one of the best normals in the game; it does big damage by itself for a nomral, is a combo starter and is completely safe on block (giving you a mixup as a result)

His keepaway game is also really good. Teleport is INSANE. Might be his best move.

Speaking of his mixup, I really like his resets. lk. Tatsu, st. HP, MIXUP TIME. So fun. And his wakeup crossup game is nuts.




Honestly, I play Sakura because she's fun. That's it. She gets zoned easily but once she's in she's got some crazy rushdown with her ex hurricane kick reset. A lot of players have trouble dealing with her at this range.

I'm just gonna throw in that all the lingo and shorthand people create for fighting games sounds really, really stupid.

Fighting game lingo is no fun if you're describing it to casual fighter fans or people who don't play fighters.

It's no fun period, it sounds incredibly stupid, even if you know what it means.
In a similar vein, I originally thought "shinespark" was a name people made up for what I thought was a nameless move in Metroid, but I later learned that's its actual name. I was disappointed, because it has that same stupid ring as names fans give to things. It sounds like a ♥♥♥♥ing Smash Bros. glitch.

Well i dont really play Street Fighter outside Street Fighter 2. In that game is Blanka all the way. Dhalsim is awesome too.

Those are like, my two least-favourite characters. I honestly don't see how anyone can compete as Dhalsim - he's as slow as a funeral. Even when he teleports!

Blanka always holds a special place in my heart due to nostalgia. I remember playing Street Fighter 2 in the arcade as a kid and raping everyone's face with Blanka and his cheap ass electricity move.

Well why? Shorthand lingo like that is fine among people who understand it. It gets their point across quicker.

You must've HATED fireballs, though.

I use Abel. First time I played Street Fighter IV, I got well with him pretty quickly.

Standing Heavy Kick/standing roundhouse is one of the best normals in the game; it does big damage by itself for a nomral, is a combo starter and is completely safe on block (giving you a mixup as a result)

Speaking of his mixup, I really like his resets (a reset is when you purposely allow the combo counter stop counting by letting the enemy fall out of a combo into a standing position. this allows you avoid damage scaling and do more damage in the long run in the current offense situation. Requires mindgames.) Light Kick Hurricane kick, standing heavy punch, MIXUP TIME. So fun. And his wakeup (wakeup simply means when a character is standing) crossup (coming in from the air at an angle that confuses the enemies block) game is nuts.

He moves slow and his moves are fast. That's actually a good thing.
