Wii Sports Resort, which is bundled with the new black Wii, has already sold well over one million copies across Europe, and brings an entire island, along with 12 exciting sports and activities, to your living room for all your friends and family to enjoy. Each of the sports featured in Wii Sports Resort is modelled with incredible accuracy thanks to the Wii MotionPlus accessory, included with this new package.

If black is your colour then prepare to get your hands on this popular console and accessories in their new look, launching across UK and Republic of Ireland from 6 November and mainland Europe on 20 November.

Finally, Nintendo are releasing a different coloured Wii. I'm pretty sure this black Wii will be announced for the US relatively shortly, as black Wiimotes and Nunchuks have already been confirmed for the US, so the console should follow soon.

Who's going to be picking this beauty up? I'm definately getting mine on day one, as ever since we first heard of the Revolution way back in 2005 I loved the look of the black console. I'll be keeping my white Wii, as it's an original one from launch, and it survived SSBB rendering it completely unable to play any games, as well as the fact that the SSBB save file that I've poured so many dozens of hours into is non-transferrable from the console to an SD card.


Looking at the bigger picture, how do you think this along with the recent price drop and inclusion of Wii Sports Resort into the bundle will affect sales of the Wii in Europe during the holiday period? There's also the double-whammy of Wii Fit Plus on Oct 30th and New Super Mario Bros Wii on Nov 20th to factor in, which will both more than likely cause an increase in sales of the console. Do you think it's enough to cause the Wii to sell-out across retailers for another year, or will the slow decrease in sales as of late continue?

I'm hoping to get it if it comes here. I need to get my Wii repaired anyways (it sounds like it has a V8 and won't pllay GCN games), so I'm hoping that they'll be willing to mae it black (although I know that's a slim chance). I am for sure getting the black controllers.

I don't know if this will help sales any except for maybe people buying a second one.

Oooh, I'd love a black Wii. It's better than boring old white. Also, my brother would probably like it if he had more Wii access, so I could give him the white one while the black is mine. x3

I just hope it's possible to move all of my VC games and other data to an SD card and then to the new Wii...

Nope. You'll lose your VC games and you can't sent game saves like brawl and mkwii to it.

A black wii would be awesome, but since the wii I have now is still working fine, and that I'm not rich enough to buy a new one just for the color, I probably won't get it(even if my current one breaks again, I rather spend 100 euro for reparation then buying a new one)

Ah, that sucks.

I wouldn't mind having to do things over again in Brawl since it's so fun, as well as the rest of the Wii games I play, but the VC games...hm...

Seeing as my Wii has been nothing but a fancy paperweight for ages now, I won't be picking this up. It's not even like it adds any new features like the DSi does; the colour is not enough to sell me a system that I already own and barely play anymore.

I already has a white Wii, so no black Wii for me.

Oooooohhh. Shiny. Well not really but it is cool. Anyhoo, I too hope to get one if it ever makes it around my way. I need a new Wii, my nephew stuck like five bucks worth of change in mine and now it jangles to much to play (true story )

I doubt this bundle will have any major impact on sales. Consoles don't start selling out again just 'cause the company decided to finally release a different color of their console around three years later.

Weren't they supposed to come out with multicolored ones in the first place?

Nah but it is nice to have a new color for those who dont have Wiis. I remember i got the platinum Gamecube when i finally got one and i thought it was nifty.

Looks cool, but I'm really not into losing all my data, so......not getting one. Though I maybe will get a black Wiimote. That ought to be fun.

Not worth it, I've already got a white Wii and I don't want to lose any data.

I've only got two Wii remotes though, so I could pick up a couple of black Wiimotes.

A Black Wii would be awesome next to my Elite. But, the current Wii i have works 100% still so there is no need for a replacement.

No s**t sherlock.

You already have a Wii. A new color isn't supposed to make you buy another. That goes for all of you.

Rather, it's supposed to increase the appeal to people who don't have one, much like the DSi, except less effectively.

The Black Wii itself might have a small impact on sales, but the Resort bundle is sure to boost Wii sales noticeably.
