Link's Class?

Hey everyone. I just wanted to get some ideas as to what Link's class would be in Dungeons and Dragons. I love role-playing fantasy, and I love the Zelda games, so I was curious how to combine the two.

Anyway, I was thinking Fighter at first, but he is also very ranger like with the bow. I was thinking a fighter with a multiclass into ranger...

And as for magic, he mostly uses items, so that would be based on his wallet size, rather than his inteligence. In fact, I was thinking of making him mute .

Any Ideas?

Well, that was quick.

Yes, that is true, but I'm trying to define Link under the parameters of another game. Do you play DnD?

Re: Link's Class?

I've tried. My friend tried to show me... didn't do too good of a job.

But from what little I've been taught, I guess I'd say Knight. I'm not 100% sure on that, though.

Screw Dungeons and Dragons. Munchkin is where it's at!

(Note I have never played D&D, but my friend has Munchkin, it's awesome)

Maybe a paladin.

We made him in a game once.

Re: Link's Class?

Link would be a ranger i would assume. If i remember correctly, Rangers can use some spells as well. Plus two handed fighting and use of inventory. Probably a prestige class involving a ranger and a druid. :/

I do, and funny enough my group has discussed what he would be. Essentially, a Fighter, and then you'd have to make some feats that would pertain to him. Things like ability to throw bombs, and etc. Although, he IS essentially a fighter, just with a bunch of magical equipment.

Or as Glutexo said, he'd have to be his own class...

Wait, is this for 4th Edition, or V.3.5?

Re: Link's Class?

Well, seeing as I don't play 4e, I guess we'll go with 3.5 for discussion purposes. But feel free to apply both versions, I would enjoy the enlightenment.

4e is actually better in my opinion, but 3.5 is much more fun for discussion like this.

Yeah, I really like 4e, but unfortunately I have no one to play it with. My neighbor wants to stick to v3.5, so that's what I have to play.

Overall, I think if you want to make custom classes, and have a lot of flexibility, its best to play v3.5

Re: Link's Class?

Link would would be a Ranger with a multiclass as a Paladin and another multiclass as a Rogue... he's too much of a goody-two-shoes to NOT be a Paladin, he's constantly sneaking past guards (almost every Zelda game since OoT has had stealth segments) and deactivating traps, he always uses a bow and is an excellent rider.

And don't forget the time that he stole from Koholint's general store.

How exactly you can reconcile being a Rogue and a Paladin is beyond me, but he does it.

Re: Link's Class?

Link would be some sorta Fire Emblem Lord.

He could also be an archer, or a mage.

Yeah, let's go with Freelancer.
