Question about Metroid Prime Trilogy

I already own Prime 1 and 2 for gamecube, and corruption for wii. Should I trade corruption in and get trilogy? Is having 1 and 2 with motion controls worth it?

Re: Question about Metroid Prime Trilogy

First off you probably won't get a whole lot for a trade in value for corruption, maybe like 10 bucks at most if you're lucky. I think it's worth it though. I'm in the same vote as you though, but 3 games with the first 2 with enhanced visuals and controls, and the 3rd one for a price of 50bucks (60 for me) is pretty damn good. I'de say it's worth it.

Re: Question about Metroid Prime Trilogy

Easy question.

If you liked the controls of Corruption, and wish to experience the first two games in the same way, then do it.

Re: Question about Metroid Prime Trilogy

I also have a question concerning Prime Trilogy.
I've heard that the difficulty of Prime 1 and 2 was significantly scaled back. Is this true and is there an option to restore the original difficulty?

Re: Question about Metroid Prime Trilogy

Of course it's worh it if you dont own the third one. It might save you a few dollars if you bought the third one instead of the trilogy, but the controls and graphics are enhanced. As far as the difficulty of the first two I dont know and I havent noticed any difference in the difficulty though I havent played through much of the first two yet.

My guess (and this is really just a guess) is that the ability to quickly aim makes (for some people) the game seem easier. I know I find FPS games loads easier on the computer than game systems because I'm way better with a mouse and aiming then with a joystick. Those, as I said, this is more or less just a guess.

Actually, the visuals are worse. They removed some of the charge effects.

But they added things like bloom lighting. On top of that, there's widescreen, which improves the visuals themselves, in a way, by providing better visual range.

Re: Question about Metroid Prime Trilogy

Yeah, i liked it alot. Im new to the series, so i was really satisfied with the games. The metal box is kind of cool and the controls are awesome. So you should probably get the Trilogy.

Depends.

There are now three difficulty settings, and "Normal" is actually a new, easier difficulty, while "Veteran" is the original standard difficulty. For this reason, you could technically say that the game is easier. Also, the damage ratio against Boost Ball Guardian was made slightly more balanced, and Spider Guardian is easier purely by virtue of Spring Ball being available.

Other than that, I actually noticed that most of the game was harder due to changes that went into place in PAL and later versions that carried over to the Trilogy remake. (For example, Ice Pirates can no longer be destroyed by Missiles when frozen.)

I'm actually not sure how true this is; I heard the screen just stretches to fit.

Re: Question about Metroid Prime Trilogy

I've heard the the hyper mode difficulty's on the first two are harder then hard was on the original. Not certain though.
Yeah, they butchered some of the MP2 bosses. Still stuck on the boost guardian on hyper mode though.

Re: Question about Metroid Prime Trilogy

I was in your shoes, having owned 1, 2, and 3, but I decided to go ahead and make the trade for Trilogy. And it was absolutely worth it! Experiencing these masterpieces with enhanced controls and in widescreen is incredible, assuming you were a big fan of the games in the first place. So yeah, unless something else interesting comes your way, I would recommend the purchase.

Re: Question about Metroid Prime Trilogy

Seriously. Don't do that, you're just telling them that you don't want new games and that you will just buy the same game that's already been release years ago for the price of it being brand new.
