Re: What to buy?

Super Metroid is so heads-and-tail above every other game on that list that I hereby declare this thread to be over. ;-P

Re: What to buy?

Just emulate them all on your PC for free.

Though, Super Metroid is quite possibly the best game ever made, so that's the main priority here.

Re: What to buy?

By Super Mario RPG, if you mean Legend of the Seven Stars, I'd get that. IF you're into that kind of game. If Contra Rebirth has every Contra, that's a good one too. Hopefully the Konami code still works on the VC version.

Yes, it does.

It's overall a little bit dull in places and lacks the overall look and feel the Prime has. The controls take a bit of getting used too and can feel stiff at times; especially when compared to the GBA games.

The cinematic feel to the game hasn't aged well, there are some very good moments; the near end is a high point, though the introduction and middle sections feel a little bare at times, particually in wake of story driven games of this age such as Call of Duty 4 and the Half-life series.

Though overall, if you want a gem of a game in terms of atmosphere, music, and thrilling, explorative gameplay, then Super Metroid is only second to the masterful Symphony of the Night.

Re: What to buy?

This sounds like a job for the Game Reccomendations V.3 thread!

I would go with Contra Rebirth. I love my contra games.

By the standards of its time, however, Super Metroid has no flaws. None.
