45 tracks for LEGO Rock Band and 65 for Band Hero.

When these titles were first announced, I wasn't expecting much. But after seeing the song list for both, I was surprised to see many of my favourite bands that I've long wanted to see in (or in some cases more of) one of the many iterations of Guitar Hero and Rock Band there have been.

What do you think about these two spin-offs? Do you think they're good expansions of their respective series, or merely cash-ins? What songs do you like and dislike? Discuss (:

Why not buy like... real Rock Band? I mean, it's all a waste of money, I wouldn't buy it, but if you're going to blow like a hundred dollars...

There's only two songs in that whole list that I like.

I've got both Rock Band and Rock Band 2, as well as Guitar Hero's 3, World Tour and Greatest Hits (I did have 5, but the song list was terrible in my opinion), so I have no need to buy the whole band sets or guitars. Plus I live in the UK, so dollars won't even come into it . I'll only need to spend between £30 - £40 on each for the standalone game, which is well worth it considering how many of the songs I like on each.

Re: LEGO Rock Band and Band Hero

I've wasted something like 400 dollars on music games.

Really makes me think... I could have Fallout 3 and Dead Space right now. And still have a bunch of money left over. Deeepressing.

Re: LEGO Rock Band and Band Hero

It depends on what you like really. I find spending an evening playing some of my favourite songs on Rock Band / Guitar Hero to be a very fun and relaxing thing to do, so I'm willing to shell out a bit of cash for it.

Spinal Tap? Pretty awesome. Free Fallin's an awesome song too, but I don't think the other songs on the set list are worth buying the game for.

What the hell...

And all the other songs on the setlist are ****. Don't think I'll be getting this one anytime soon.

And I guess these companies have a huge stiffy for The All American Rejects, The Foo Fighters, Blink-182 and Fall Out Boy, because every music game has at least one of these bands.

Re: LEGO Rock Band and Band Hero

Only in the other games it was balanced out by bands like Pearl Jam and Soundgarden.

Re: LEGO Rock Band and Band Hero

LEGO earns some points for sticking a Tom Petty song in there, even if it's just Free Fallin'.

Re: LEGO Rock Band and Band Hero

HEY ITS BAND HERO

IT'S LIKE ROCK BAND AND GUITAR HERO IN ONE
ONLY WORSE

So. It is my humble opinion that one Rock Band/Guitar Hero game should be released per system. Expansions, maybe. Downloadable content, yes. Beatles Rock Band, Lego Rock Band, Guitar Hero Aerosmith, Decades, Smash Hits, whatever. It's all **** that wastes your money when you really only need one.

Points for finally doing an Incubus song, even if it is a faggy one like Dig.

Or even better; Why not buy like...a real musical instrument and be a real musician, not a rock star.
