Valve wishes. They're certainly scoring better with the hardcore crowd as of late than Nintendo is, not that that's particularly difficult, but Valve has nowhere near the versatility of Nintendo, among other things.

But Valve is the best Source modder around, for sure.

Half-Life 2 is enjoyable, but I've gotten so much more out of other series. My least favorite parts though are-

Ravenholm- Really, I mean what the ****. Longest freaking "sidetracking" ever. Ever.

All of Episode 1

The ending to every single Half-Life game.

Left 4 Dead and TF2 are the best Valve games I've ever played and Portal is the best in terms of single player.

Yes. Install it and then go into the folder where it is and change the computability mode to windows XP (or whatever windows you know it worked on) and it will work.


I love the first Half Life. This was a game I just found last year (finally got around to playing it) and fell in love. It was everything I wanted in a video game. It felt like what DooM 3 should have been. It was magic! The newer ones are a blast thanks to the gravity gun but I still agree with 8bit (See my sig). Any word on when Episode 3 is coming out?

I'm new to valve. But I know they are the only game makers who have made a game where I can't look down the sights of the gun, and yet I still have a blast playing the game. In most every game that I can't look down the sights on the gun it feels clunky and I don't feel like I'm really there. And it's only somewhat fun. Half Life doesn't have that problem. No idea why it just doesn't. (Though a lot of me really wishes I could aim down the sights of the weapons).

Because Valve's character Gordon Freeman won "Greatest Video Game Hero" with 55.8% of the vote, they marked all of the Half-Life games down 55.8% for a few days. This is a great chance for some of you to experience the series. If you have an older computer, don't be afraid. The original Half-Life was made in '98. I'm sure you could run it on a system you have now.

Valve is the ♥♥♥♥, though. TF2 is one of the best multiplayer experiences on any platform, and HL1&2 are up there for singleplayer.

A friend of mine purchased and pre-ordered Left 4 Dead 2 for me. Basically, I received the game for free. I get early access to the demo (amongst a few exclusive pre-order only unlockables) somewhere around the 27th of this month.

Hype, hype, hype.

I finally got my hands on the orange box the other week, and played through all three games in Half Life. And I have to say, its one of the better games I've played in a long time. I played Half Life 1 a few years ago, but I don't remember much of it so I might give it another spin.

Needless to say, I really want episode three right now.

Episode 3 I can't wait for. I really hope that it will explain all the loose ends and explain the Borealis.

I love most Valve games, but Left 4 Dead is horrible. It's just not fun at all. It's my only game I regret buying on Steam.

I am most sorry and apologize greatly but this statement is very much a falsehood.

I broke and preordered Left 4 Dead 2, it is so good.

I'd rather play Zombie Panic than L4D, and that game is not very good either.

It's no fun at all. That's fine if you like it, millions of others do as well. It's just nowhere near what I'd call fun. I have far too many games that are more fun to play and I have very little free time, so I don't play L4D at all anymore.

So I've been playing the L4D 2 demo the past few days. It is pretty amazing. The Melee weapons are all really great, although I will say first that I don't think they are very good to use in a horde. You should definitely pull out your primary for that one. But I can see it being used as hilarious street cleaning in the down time.

Also, the Magnum is hilarious. I shot a huge hole through a zombie's abdomen and all of his intestines came out all over the place. It was kinda nasty, almost.

I haven't found the Magnum in L4D2 yet.

The magnum is my new favorite weapon. Right next to the "error" shooting grenade launcher.
