Assassin's Creed 2

So Ezio is Batman?

EDIT: Since this thread isnt simply about the trailer shown above I thought I'd re-title the thread.

Re: Assassin's Creed 2

I know this is really petty and shallow, but I expected a much less... generic looking protagonist.

I'm glad he's sorta generic. I think they were going for "normal guy turning into assassin".

The trailer is essentially advertisement, so of course they're going to show the bits that looked the most action-packed, which are the open combat sections and all the new gory animations they've come up with. If you wanted a more varied look at the game, watch some of the gameplay walkthroughs all over the internet.

And one button? really? So you completed the game by just running into every fight and jamming the X button until everyone was dead? The fighting might not be street fighter or anything but it's deeper than you give it credit.

Re: Assassin's Creed 2

Ok, that was epic. I'm glad that the storyline will play out as to how he became an assassin and what his purpose is. This will definitely be 100 times better than it's predecessor.

That's the thing though. He doesn't just look like a "normal guy". He looks like just a run-of-the mill protagonist.

I don't know how a guy with a pink mohawk would be a good assassin, but I'm open to suggestions.

Re: Assassin's Creed 2

I noticed something. In it he says that the day he realized his purpose was 30 years ago. If he was in late teens-early twenties (as shown in the cutscene), wouldn't that make him about 50 years old?

It probably means all the events took place 30 years ago. Not actually that it took 30 years for him to become the Assassin.

The climbing is 75% of the reason I love the games.

Re: Assassin's Creed 2

Is the game's scenario going to end up having the same "computer simulation ancestral memories" crap that the first game had?

Probably. I hope. It was a really good mystery in the first one. Towards the end it got me really anxious about what was going to happen. They can't leave us at the end of the last one, especially after Lucy did this,

He'd probably do better than "Leonardo DiCaprio Clone XXVI".

Really? I thought the story was terrible. To me, it felt like the object of the game was "wade through all these useless memories so we can get to the one that isn't a complete waste of time".

It certainly looks that way. The visuals imply it now and then. And yes, they can't just leave that part hanging.

That was the object of the game. I thought it was an okay story. It provided some neat justification for common video game reality-breakers.
