Stuff and nonsense. That figure was made up in 1993 by Lisa Holst, seeking to prove that you could make up anything on the Internet, and people would believe it.

The shaving one, however, is good advice and I have always shaved that way.

I never read it on the internet but okay.

I only started shaving that way after I saw Alan Davies say so on QI, and now I actually cut myself a lot less than I ever did using shaving gel/foam.

It originally started through forwarded emails, and has since been cited in medical journals, newspapers, and factbooks.

And it really is one of those little factoids no-one could ever prove. You'd have to monitor a person throughout their whole life to know.

And thanks for the shaving advice; my beard has been growing a bit too fluffy recently and I was intending to find out the best way to shave it soon anyway.

Depends what you mean by dangerous. It's definitely the fastest snake in the world, but not the most venomous. The snake with the most toxic venom is the Inland Taipan. However, the snake that has caused the most human deaths is the Saw-Scaled Viper.
