Here's a couple speed tests I did.

http://www.speedtest.net/ <---- says I get 23.45mbs. But I'm on cable so it fluctuates a bit. It stays around 20 though.

http://www.speed.io/index_en.html <----- this one says I get 13098kbs.

Sooo, I'm above average I guess.

I wonder, though. Because it doesn't take me 12 minutes to upload an HD movie like Japan.. so what now? My internet does a whole lot better than that, and it's not even that great.

Oh yeah, I remember Obama saying something about how we need to improve our internet connections. Well ♥♥♥♥ the rest of the country, my connection is fine.

I hear ethiopia is a lot worse.

According to that test, my download speed is 0.22 Mb/s and my upload speed is 0.05 Mb/s.

WAY Above average. I got an excellent at just over 7000kbs.

Mines only 1.15 mbps.

That's still about 5-6 times faster than my download speed, apparently.

America is lazy.

Okay, going by that speedtest.net link, my download speed's around 15 mbps.
So I guess I shouldn't trust what my wireless catcher says (either that or it's not the measurement I think it is). The website's seems more reasonably close to what I seem to experience.

Look on the bright side America: At least we don't spend most of our lives on the internet seeing some of us have one.

Is it bad that on speedtest.net I saw the frames 77%...78%....etc. til it loaded? And that was like...a minute after I started up the page :0( (

Sear: I don't have but 2 neighbors or so that are using cable internet (It also took us this long to get anything out here....pretty random old town) so hopefully shared connection won't be much of a problem.

I got 0.04 Mbps download and 0.12 Mbps upload :0(

Just to give you all an idea of how much rural internet sucks, I'm paying 80$ per month. The installation fees and costs for the disk came to about 600$. What the ♥♥♥♥. On top of that, my average speed is 100kbps. I randomly disconnect. And my ping comes to about 9000ms.

Be grateful for your cheap, fast internet. =m=
