The longest time I went without a shower was a week, but that's because I was on an island in the middle of a huge lake. The running water was somewhat filtered lake water.

I wonder. Is it normal for two kids—age eight and ten—to not shower for a few weeks? I find it disgusting.

I don't think it's normal to go THAT long without a shower, regardless of age, but when you're that young, you have so much to do, who has time for a shower? That's where the parents have to step in and say 'No, you do NOT have too much to do to skip a shower, now go take one or I'LL wash you'.

No matter WHAT, it's my personal opinion, that there should always, always, ALWAYS be a toilet in the same room as a bathtub/shower.

At least, it is now, after reading that >.>

Shower door. Bathroom door. Toilet room door. Don't count that first one if you don't want to.

I find it to be a better system, because it means the toilet can still be used while someone else is using the bathroom.

For what it's worth, urine is sterile, and when I was that young, a few (maybe 2) weeks without bathing was normal. Not counting when my mom MADE me. God...clean....gah!

WTF? 2 WEEKS? that's around half a month?

My parents forced me to bathe at least once a day when I was younger, which in hindsight was a good thing. One day without bathing for me is like the rough equivalent of a week for someone else.

There was a point where I was stricken by a particularly potent form of melancholy. I didn't bathe for months at a time and I was unhealthily thin.
