"Poor" personal hygiene is relative and not up for you to judge and decide. Furthermore, someone who is less cleanly than yourself is neither a menace nor an inconvenience. Lastly, somebody's hygienic habits do not make them right or wrong.

Also, poor hygiene is an inconvenience, it is not only unpleasant for others, but it can pose a health risk. People who don't wash run the risk of carrying filth and disease. |

Re: Personal Hygiene, the Good and the Bad
As I said, personal hygiene is entirely relative, so that entirely depends. Though I suppose to make myself look, uhm, "better" in some people's eyes I shall proceed to describe the habits I undertake daily that would be classified as "personal hygiene."
You decide. Quote:

Beh, I did not put clothing on that list because I was unaware clothing counted as hygiene. Yes, I own a very large amount of clothing.
...wat? Hitler died quite a long time ago, if I'm not mistaken. He ingested cyanide to induce suicide. You could not possibly have typed all that from beyond the grave.

Haven't you ever seen Ghost starring Patrick Swayze? Hitler's death was exactly like that. All I gotta do is practice touching **** in the subway and then I can do all sorts of crazy **** to living people

Re: Personal Hygiene, the Good and the Bad
When you live in Dorms, you're BOUND to come across someone who has terrible hygiene. I remember a couple of guys that lived in the same dorms as me that I was always hearing about. One of them stands out in particular. I don't remember this guy's name, but he had no shame, whatsoever. Not only did he not take the time to take a shower, he also did not take the time to get up and go to the bathroom. Here he was, this grown man peeing in his bed, not because of control issues, but just because he was that foul. When he finally left, there were people that had to move his mattress outside. It was out there for like 3 weeks, but I felt bad because the guys that moved it were gagging left and right. Ugh, so nasty.

Either it's religion, or people are too stupid. Or the Religion is just stupid.
Personally I believe it should be a law to not smell in public, and then you'd get charges that you'll have to give the police money to buy soap, and the police will drive you home, and make you take a shower. I don't know why I'm not a world ruler. |

Re: Personal Hygiene, the Good and the Bad
I figure some some people don't give a **** what you think. Sometimes I get a little slack in showering if I'm not doing anything, but I will shower if I'm going out somewhere. It's not lack of self respect, I'm lazy. Why bother to waste time getting clean if all you do is hang around the house all day, maybe only going out to the store or something? I really couldn't care less if someone thought my hair was greasy. But, like I said, this changes if I'm doing a lot that day, interacting with friends and such. Besides, at most I go two days without.
------> Didn't give a crap if you thought his hair was greasy.

Edit: I'm not real self conscious of my image. I shower when it's necessary, (i.e. after sweating and for a social event). So, it's not like I'm a pig.

I think the term you're looking for is "couldn't care less."

Re: Personal Hygiene, the Good and the Bad
Taking Japanese class in high school, I routinely ran into weebos who spent their time obsessing about living in Japan rather than taking showers. Ironically enough, the Japanese place such a high emphasis on personal hygiene that none of those people would be accepted even if they were to miraculously come up with the assets to go there.
In short, I have no freaking clue why people don't take showers. Nor do I care. I don't care how tried you are. I don't care if you didn't get a wink of sleep. The least you can do is wash yourself every other day for a minimum of 10 minutes, and you'll do the universe a huge favor. And please brush your teeth. And floss. No one wants to smell that.
