Re: Live forever or die at 65?
I'd hate living on Earth forever. What appeal it has will eventually be lost to time, with all the flaws of Earth being the only things I see. I'd rather take my chances in the afterlife.

yes, i do. but im saying that the only LIVING part of the nail is the Matrix, so anything else with the nail would either stop growing or fall off. Since you arnt aging or anything. same with the hair.

Oh, ok. I think I'd still go with 65 though.

and if you did, you would still be alive. no matter what, your still alive. edit: i suppose im thinking of a immortal type where if you get any serious injuries, it heals itself up, or you cant get injured at all.

You should edit "no matter what happens to you, you will always live" or something to that effect into the first post so that people who don't read (I skipped half the posts) can see it.

Re: Live forever or die at 65?
Um... *raises hand* Can I choose to die sooner?
Why would I want to do that? Doesn't matter. But anyways, there is no chance at all that I would want to live forever. Don't get me wrong, seeing the future sounds all cool and everything, but I just couldn't go through that kind of thing. The thought of losing any of my family is terrible and the same goes for all of my friends. Plus living forever would be incredibly weird. I mean when the universe is done you're still there? Doesn't sound good to me. I mean seriously, anybody that isn't already insane would go insane with immortality. You'd be stuck alive forever, and that would be a really bad curse.

Re: Live forever or die at 65?
I can see no logical reason why I wouldn't want to live forever. Immortality is the ultimate reward.
for those who argue that one would "go insane" or "get bored," why don't you provide some evidence or something? I, for one, do not believe I would actually lose my mental capacity just because I live a long time. As for getting bored, I am absolutely certain I could always find something to do. After all, there are an infinite number of things to do and places to go, so I should be fine. |

Re: Live forever or die at 65?
Depends at what "age" the immortality would take place. I mean, if I was infinitely stuck at what was seemingly the age of ninety for the rest of eternity, that would kind of blow. I'd prefer to stay immortal at around the prime age of twenty-five-ish.

So. After the entire Solar System is gone and you're floating out in space at least 4 light years away from the nearest star, what do you do to occupy your time?

but it was stated that some others might become immortal also, so you would have them to talk too and such

Isn't talking in space impossible?
