It's a terrible excuse for behaving like a four year old.

But yeah, imaginary friends. I think I had one when I was, like, four. I can't remember what it was, though. I also had something of an imaginary friend when I was fourteen or so. I had drawn a picture of some random chick, and I kind of formed a bond with her and thought she was real at times.

Then I found out that I was supposed to have a twin sister that died in the womb and that it was some sort of psychological thing. I don't know, I'm not a doctor.

Right, so this was because Forte says he doesn't like himself. I want him to like himself a bit more.

Never had one myself. But like some others, I do run some dialogues through my mind, usually of dialogues that don't even come to pass at all...

Re: Imaginary Friends

Being someone who draws cartoons almost all the time and (without exaggeration) constantly thinks about ways of playing out situations in or expanding their worlds, I dunno if you'd consider that "imaginary friends". I certainly don't "converse" with them in my head, although I do constantly think about them creatively to keep me entertained. I'll think of different scenarios that can happen, or make up new characters-- really, it all adds up to one big bank of ideas I can select from later on.

Really, if I didn't do this, life would be pretty damn boring.

Maybe I should reformulate - They can go on for an hour or I can pull off ten of those in a minute.

Re: Imaginary Friends

I had imaginary friends when I was seven or eight years old. It's a pretty common phenomenon.

Actually, I used to imagine that cars had life and unique personalities as well, for some reason. I think it was because when you look at a car straight on, the licence plate looks faintly like a mouth, and the windscreen its eyes. And yes, this was long before Cars came out.

Yes, I do this occasionally as well.

Re: Imaginary Friends

I used to have imaginary friend. It was a dragon, and the boss of my plushies. XD I didn't talk with it too much, it was just... there, and I imagined what would it do, if this or that would happen.

Re: Imaginary Friends

Anyone who is old enough to use these forums is old enough to let go of imaginary friends, and in my opinion, should.

It prevents you from growing up maturely and encourages you to falsely confide in friends that don't even exist. Why not make, you know, real friends? online friends at the least?

Re: Imaginary Friends

I never really left the house for not-school-stuff when I was little, so I had one or two imaginary friends that I'd kinda talk to while I played video games. The one I remember most clearly was "Ghost"

Creative, I know. I'll try to draw him out on paint.
EDIT:
lol something like that.

I'd also look at the backs of cars and try to imagine faces on them as we were driving, and kinda prtend cars... were... talking... and stuff.

ah, all that stuff is gone now, mostly.

You sound like me after I have had my daily dose of chocolate and energy drinks. That's when my weird imagination kicks in. And I mean WEIRD.

Yes, let's just say I picture faceless lips flying across the sky and dancing bananas. >_>

Re: Imaginary Friends

I've always had a vivid imagination, but strangely I never had an imaginary friend.

Well, a couple years ago I made up and named an imaginary friend as an exercise in creativity, but it was really nothing more.

I'm like that all the time though... unless I have to concentrate on, like, a test or using a machine that can kill me. xD Sure, lips and bananas are weird, but I'm weird in my own little ways. Like one time during grocery shopping, and idea hit me on how to make those massive container ships more manuverable... but I won't say, since the government is watching me and selling off my ideas to the highest bidder. >__>
