Would you want a boy or girl?

Parents always seem to prefer having their kids being born of certain gender. The father might want a boy to raise him the way he was/wanted to be raised, or a mother might want a girl for similar reason.

So when you decide to have kids, either born into your family or adopted, what gender would you prefer them be and why? Or if you don't want kids at all, explain why.

Personally, I would like to raise a girl if I became a parent. I have lived in a house of only boys, no girls. I would probably be better at raising a boy, but it would be more interesting to raise a girl because I have never been apart of a young girl's life before. It would be an enlightening experience for me.

Who the **** wouldn't choose a boy over a girl? I love women, but there's no way I'm gonna deal with them before the age of 18. Pre-adult women are the most useless pieces of crap to ever exist.

Boys require way less maintenance. And they can't get pregnant.

neither. Kids are too much work. Maybe I'll raise a dog or a cat or a fish or something, but not a human child.

I want to clone myself by having my sperm exacted from my balls and putting them into a female egg while so having that egg in a surrogate's egg. And they must have my DNA down to the point.

I would be fine with either really. But for my childs sake I hope I have a boy. Because if I have a daughter I would end up being way to over protective of her because I wouldn't want anyone to hurt her or whatever, and thus make her life kinda suck.

I've always wanted a son, but recently I've wanted a daughter more. Like Dread, I grew up in a household that was predominately male. It was cool when I was younger because we always got to do guy things when we took a vote, but I kind of want a change of pace.

And yes, I would be highly protective of my daughter. Granted, I wouldn't prohibit her from experiencing life, but I would probably murder someone if it meant protecting her. If I had a son, I would teach him how to do manly things like build stuff and drive trucks.

Kids cost way too much money.

Well...I would love to have a little girl so that I can buy her cute little pink things and dress her up and make her adorable...but I'd much rather have a little boy. I think because he'd probably take after my boyfriend, whom I love dearly. It would be a great experience to see my boyfriend raise him and teach him. ^^

But I'm in college! I don't want kids right now!

I could really care less which gender- boy or girl. They seem to be equally difficult and at the same time, equal amounts of joy to have.
As of now, I am not ready for either.
But if and when I do have/adopt kids, it might be nice to have one of each.

I don't want kids, or to be married, or anything like that, but instead of saying "no kids" I'll be hypothetical and say girl. Like a few others before me have said, I grew up in a predominantly male household, so it'd be a different experience. Although, for the same reasons, I can see it being incredibly hard to raise a girl. I'm also going to assume puberty and the like is much tougher to deal with, in contrast to a boy. Also, you have to deal with so much ****, because not only are girls susceptible to all the same things boys are in regards to society and peer pressure and whatever, but they've got it worse, since they can also get pregnant. It must be so stressful depending on what kind of person your daughter is. If you're lucky (and play your parenting cards right) she'll turn out smart and steer clear of all the dangerous stuff.

But yeah, raising a girl would be an interesting change of pace.

Both maybe, but boy first. If I only have 1, than I'd prefer a boy.

That depends on what kind of person he is. And what kind of luck you have.
What if he is constantly breaking things? What if he is reckless and is constantly breaking his bones? Or other peoples'?
What if he turns out to be someone who wants all the best/name brands?
What if he decides to go to a pricey college?

On the other hand, what if you have a girl who doesn't care about name brand clothing(like me), or who doesn't wear tons of hair products and makeup(me again)? Or what if she gets a job, and pays for everything herself(once again, that's me)?

Just some things to consider.

No kids at all. I'm too lazy to devote a huge chunk of my life to nurturing another human being all the way to adulthood.

If I had to have a kid, though, I'd probably have a daughter. Little girls seem better behaved than boys, from my experience.

I don't really have a preference inny for outty I don't care.

I dont want children but if it arises id prefer a son. Boys have always been easier for me to deal with.

2 boys, twins if possible..

Its just cool to have 2 sons who look the same.

Both, preferably. You know, to even things out a bit.
