I think that PETA is probably doing more harm than good when it comes to advocating animal rights, as its sheer hypocricy in condemning someone for swatting a fly, whilst kiling hundreds of animals that could have been adopted every year, demonstrates. Effectively, they are stopping many people from actually taking animal rights seriously.

People care about PETA?

Personaly, people shouldn't swat flies. They have lives, just like us. They deserve ethical treatment, not mudurous killing. One day people will learn.

This article made me curious about something. Suppose a PETA campaigner is presented with a dog, and that dog has worms. Is he allowed to do anything about it, thus killing the worms, or would he have to leave "the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals" alone and let the dog die?

Someone find me a PETA campaigner, a dog and some worms. We're doing this.

I don't even know PETA. I am dead serious. Never heard about them until this thread; and after reading the articles and googling around for a bit.

Besides, humans are, by nature, Omnivores. That means that we eat meat. It's nature. In fact, it's kind of funny if you think about it. Lions are Carnivores, so they only eat meat... would PETA try to save the Lion by letting it eat, or kill the Lion by keeping it from killing Gazelle? =P

PETA is silly.

PETA's not even worth stressing over any more. They're real old news, and shouldn't be given any more publicity than they already have.

Being or not being a vegetarian is a personal choice, you should never force it on someone. I certainly enjoy using these canines of mine. Anyone that gets their message across by throwing buckets of paint at people should just be ignored... or made fun of, I prefer the latter.
