How do you honestly feel about tanning?

Especially in my state.

I get slightly tanned every summer due to being at the beach a lot, and I love it. So...I got nothing against it, so long as it's only a little.

I dislike tans. Fake ones slightly more so, but I'm not even a huge fan of real ones. I'll keep my naturally pasty skin, thanks.

I need to even my tan out a bit...

I totally have a driving tan too... hahahaha


all in all moderation is key and error on the side of UNDERDOING it.

I prefer being pale, i think it suits me more, but the thing is, my skin tans so quickly that if i go anywhere hot on holiday, i will get a golden tan in just a couple days without even trying.

I prefer tans on men than on women. I love the whole tanned skin, dark hair look x3

I HATE fake tans though! And people who get so obsessed with it! Fake tans just turn out horrible and orange, i don't know why people bother.

I'm a pasty-a** b**** who hates crowds, the heat, and lives a nocturnal lifestyle, so whenever I start to feel like crap from vitamin d deficiency, I tend to head down the street and hop into a tanning bed for ten or fifteen minutes. I go in, I come out either gold or red (being the pasty Irish girl that I am), and I'm set for weeks.

It's easy, it's fast, and it gets the job done. That, and I don't get annoying tan lines from it...

I've got no problem with vapid people tanning, I guess - it's a harmless enough practice for everyone else, but once you start turning yourself to leather you really need to get yourself out of the tanning booth and onto a shrink's couch.

I love tanning. Laying out in the sun, going for dips, walking about in the sun. Besides, I can't help but tan. So summer would have some of the best outdoorsy time for me. I just love the sun.

I'm a cheeky darky. A brownie. A toasted coconut. Whatever you call it!

I am really pale and always have been, but it's never really been a concern of mine. I put layers of suncream on because I plainly don't want skin cancer. Tanning is just another thing that I can't be bothered with appearance wise. Fake tans are just that, fake, but I'd rather people use them then expose themsevles to the sun for stupid amounts of time without sun cream.

It was warm and sunny here a few days ago, so I thought I would go and try to tan/burn, because I was tired of having zero colour. Don't think I'll do that again, instead of looking semi-decent with a bit of colour, it looks like my arms and face are filthy, and it looks like I don't wash.

I don't have a problem with it, as long as they're not OTT about it, and they look alright with it, unlike how I found out what I look like.

I get pretty tan during the summer, but I don't try. I just don't want to be a snowman. Over tanning is stupid though.

However, my former-best friend is like seriously obsessed with it. At one point, she tried to use a fake tan and her hands went orange for like three weeks. She looked like a ****ing Oompa-Lumpa. She then just started sun-bathing for it.

Oh, and there was this other girl I knew at uni who was obsessed with having brown skin. She would go tanning at one of those beauty places. She decided she seriously disliked me after I said,

"Hey, so you told me you were gonna go tanning again"
"Uh-huh!"
"Cool. When do you plan to do it?"
"... I got my tan done yesterday DDDD:"
"... Oh. Erm. Yeah... looks good, man."

I like a nice tan on a girl... but not an over the top tan or fake one. Looks lame. Although when I do yard work and stuff I tend to get a nice tan... but ends up uneven.. and the fact I live in the number one skin cancer capital of the world (apparently..) tells me I should steer clear of the sun.

I often jog, mow, or play basketball shirtless to mitigate the dreaded farmer's tan as much as possible. My arms and face still end up darker than the rest my body, which is rather unsightly.

I'm slightly naturally tanned due to my background. Some people have even said that I look too pale for my race... But hey, there are very white asians out there.

But I really despise the sun... Those UV rays hurt...

I try to avoid sunlight as much as possible.

I hate the look of women that are too tan, especially blondes. I just don't like the skin being darker than the hair. I kinda like pale women.

No, because if you were american, you would've sounded like you were saying all tanning americans are *****es. Yet you worded it as if american women are *****es and do nothing but tan. You are probably one of those people who think all americans are rich and fat too. I would've replied to your post regardless of your nationality.

I understand the aesthetic around tanning, people from tropical area's are tan, if you can live in luxury in a tropical area then you are the top of the food chain, your just faking affluence...

but wait, because I was born tan, does that make me naturally rich???
