A Zu Fake!!!

I opened up my e-mail today and I saw an e-mail from Zephka@zeldauniverse.net

I said, "ok." so I opened it...I clicked the link...and Norton Anti-virus opens up saying I have the new virus!!!!

I have included pictures to prove this is no fake. What can I do!? Why would Zephka do this or did someone else send me it...

I don't know what to do...this virus is supposed to be the worsyet to come...

Eh? Sorry DoD, but you're likely to get these messages from me as well. It's spam-bots that roam the net searching for e-mails, and then cloak the virus-mails as being from other senders than they actually are, making them more likely to be opened by the receiver.

I daily get mail from people at GameSpy, IGN and Microsoft - But it really isn't likely that they are actually sending me these, now is it?

Probably Zephka got the virus and some how the virus sends itself out to those who are in Zephka's e-mailing list.

Heh, my "zumail@mrlafazia.com" has just started getting spam this morning (when I checked it). It's crazy spam, too, with peep's addresses mirroring those from zu...like lioness879 or something. Heh.

ZU must be a magnet for such things, now >_>

the mailbag was famous for getting email from Anakin and Zephka that was evident SPAM and was going to kill my computer with one short blow... those I deleted right away...

Yup.. I get those from everyone in my mailbox.. Don't open them.. And if the letter says "Here is your file" or the like, DONT OPEN IT!

What virus was it? (It may not be that bad, but then again, it might be).

Well dawg, stuff happpens. Try to delet the email or the files that are infected. If you dont want to delete it then quarentine it.

If oly the there was a law that stated SPAM was illegal.

But, yea, I get alot of crap. I recently have been getting spy on people's passwords stuff.

Norton won't get rid of it?

Actually, I'm being honest, but I would find it weird that it would say that it came from Zephka, must be SpyWare of some sort.

Well, I can't say I've received any email from ZU at all. Email that I don't believe belongs in my inbox is trashed as soon as I see the title. I've kept my PC free of viruses and spyware for the past few years, so I do believe I'm doing good.

I'd say, if you aren't expecting an email, don't read it. And if the file is abnormaly large, expect a virus.

The only emails I recieve from ZU are the ones that notify me of threads that have been replied to. Of course, I never pay attention to them, and they wont seem to go away, not even when I disable the feature. I can deal with it, it is no big deal. But, any suspicious email I have ever gotten was deleted immediately, I did not even look at th email before deleting it. But, I can not say I have ever gotten a virus from opening such an email...

And by the way, Norton Antivirus IMO does not work very well, it never worked well for me or anyone I know. I suugest getting McAfee VirusScan 7. 8 is not too good from what I have seen, but if you wish to get 8 then I can't stop you. But really, I believe it to be a much better anitivirus client than Norton.
