What do you do when thinking up a new thread?

When you make up a thread do you alwasy think about what sectionit's going to be in (ex. General Chit Chat, Entertainment,etc.) or does it pop up like spam on a crappy computer in your head?
For me it would have to be to look at where it's going (i just look at my user CP for registerd forums), what''s it's going to be about, and what people would think about it. Oh yeah, and I always look at the rules to make sure I don't break anything.(sometimes)

People usually don't just make threads just to make thrads. It usually just kinda happens when someone has something they want to talk about, or have something that warrants discussion.

Well firstly I think where I am going to put ii. Next I make sure that it's a good subject and that it's relevant. Next I try to make a good discussion out of it. Then I try to make sure it's not like this, spammy.

I make sure it is a thread worth making, and that is why I have not made one in so long. Sure, I could come up with an idea within 2 minutes, but that doesn't mean it is a good topic. This thread is the kind of thread I would try NOT to make, it is spammy and has no point to it, as Young Gun said. You have been making a few pointless thread, big_al, you should really consider making a thread WORTH MAKING before you just go and make one for the fun of it.

I do not make a thread that advertises something I did. Never, ever will you see me making threads in other sections saying, "HEY! Come read my fic, I need reponses! It is a good fic, if you don't look at it I might die!!" Really, that would be a very pointless thread, and would probably be locked immediately. Topics are made for discussion, and if I do not have something worth talking about, no thread is made.

About where you place it... to me it is common knowledge where and where not a thread goes. It is a very simple thing to figure out what section a thread goes in.

What ever im thinking i make a thread about. When im in a debating mood i make a political thread. If i want to talk gameing, guess what? i like to make game threads. That my drif!

I think about hundreds of naked woman sleeping with each other and wobblers dancing about in the background just to make it more colourful when I am thinking up Threads. Must of had an effect on the Master and Slave thread.

Oh, wouldn't it be nice to swim in your thoughts, heh.

Anyhow, can't says I think about them at all. I haven't made a thread, in fact, haven't made a decent thread for months on end.

I don't think of anything specific when I make threads. I'll be living life as usual, when an idea will... come to me. Heh. Or I'll see a bit of news and post it.

I do, however, always make sure that my threads are high-quality... something you need to work on, Big_al.

In fact, Al, you should really shape up. I can see that you're trying to make a name for yourself in the community, but you need to slow down. Spamming the place to hell won't do you any good. Put more thought into your posts, and your threads. When you're making this many threads per day, something is clearly wrong. In this case, you're just making new threads over ever random piece of crap that happens to appear in your brain.

Keep it up, and I'll start giving you strike for spam.

I generally just find out what is going on with the world, or my life, pick one, and use it, if it is not too spammy. Pretty easy system to navigate, I like it.

I just try to think of something that would catch someone's eye and get many responses, or just post something I think is interesting and what others might bother to read as well.
