Teh SATs!

Is anyone here going to or has taken the SATs before? I hafta take the SAT II Bio on June 5th. For anyone who doesn't know what the SATs are, they're basically exams that are taken in the US to apply to college. The SAT I is taken by many who wish to get into college and play a big role in which one that will accept you. SAT IIs are optional, but are still important to getting into college. So is anyone else preparing for the SATs?

I took the SAT I in January, I got a 1070, I guess that's pretty good for my age...

A kid i know online (he got me into CZW) got a 980 on them.

I am taking the ACTs in June, but I will not be taking the SATs, mainly due to the fact that colleges except both but eastern colleges prefer SAT's and the midwest (where I live) prefers the ACT's.

I've taken SATs, and ACTs.

Back in 7th grade, I took the ACT, and got a 26, I think...

This year, both times I took it, I got 31.

For the SAT, I got 1360 the first time I took it, and 1350 a couple of weeks ago...

I took mine March 16, 2002. I passed the Math easily, but I failed the English. And honestly, my college never asked me for my SAT scores. Never.

... i took the sat's in march (i still need to take all of my sat IIs/aps), and ended up getting a 1410 (670 math/740 verbal)... which got me very mad. ^_^ i completely screwed up the math section, and i have no clue why... i need to wait for my 'extended results' to come back, and figure out *how* i was being a twat... ^^

... i'm definately taking them again. the only question is when.

Andi: The ACTs are another choice instead of the SATs, they're also widely accepted, but are different from the SATs in several areas like how they are graded I think. Here's the website for more info: http://www.act.org/

yeah.... colleges really don't look at SATs/ACTs. i mean they do, but it's not a big part of being accepted. my friend got a 28 on her ACT's... but her grades weren't so great, so she was put on the waiting list to the college she wanted to go to. they look at what classes you're taking, the grades you're getting in them, and maybe class rank. but then again, class rank doesn't really matter because some people could be taking hella easy classes and acing them... while others taking hard classes, such as AP (advanced placement) classes and getting ok grades... obviously, the person taking easy classes would have a higher rank, but, they aren't taking challenging classes... so, colleges might not accept the ones with a higher rank. but meh... that doesn't mean you shouldn't try hard on your SATs/ACTs...

yea... the college i'm going to only requires international students to take SATs/ACTs.... but they only look at the english parts. you have to get atleast a 17 on the ACT's.... 17!!! that's below average...
