Help!

Note: This is for anyone working on OSX on an older iMac.
Ok, here's my problem: I'm trying to talk to someone live on IM, like so we can hear each other's voices, but I can't figure it out on my computer. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and can help me? Please respond with unbelievabley easy instrustions, since I'm a bit technologically impared. Thanks!

I use OSx on an iMac. Is your problem that you cannot get Talk to work, or you cannot figure out how to use your microphone, or what? The version of AIM I use doesn't even have Talk, which makes me angry because it's the only one I can use.

first of all, what IM porgram are you using?
Secondly, some PC microphones wont work on mac, so if you bougth a cheap mic then chances are that it wont work.
and punqunsprite:
aim for classic mac os could easily talk, so you better check if its true that it doesnt work on the mac os x system. if not, then simply download mac os 4.3 for mac os classic and it will work.
