How much do you judge someone based on their avatar?

If it's of a person, they're smart.
If it's of a anime character, they're generally nerds, but smart.
If it's of an anime character no one has ever seen, then they're generally cool.
If it's nothing, they are a noob.


My experience.

EDIT:
I usually judge more off the name.

If the name has originality and no digets, then the person is awesome.

If it's something like "darkshadow234" then I usually tend to avoid them without even noticing.

I always do this for people. I'll base a persons avatar with their user name so it's easier to find posts. Also, before the sex symbols, I would see whatever avatar they had and judge the person being a boy or girl.

I judge like mad from the avatar; it's more important than your signature.

I think we can simultaneously agree that:

Pixelated avatar: noob
Top cat avatar: awesome

Mmm, avatars can give great insight into a person's tastes, sense of humor(or lack thereof), and general personality. Or so I think.

It gives you an unspoken charm, something forbidden that only your closest circle of friends would know about you. It gives you a sort of characteristic, one that people only see that you have but they don't know what it is, and they never will.

If they have an anime girl in their avatar, then I belive they're female right away; usually I'm right.

Now, if they selected from ZU's preset avatars from Alttp or oot or tp (I see the same ones all the time) then they're a forum noob to me.

I mostly judge people by post content, avatar, signature, and name, mostly.

Many times I have thought someone to be of one sex or the other because of what their avatar looked like.

Many times I have been wrong.

I like looking at a person's avatar. Generally, like everyone else has said, it's kind of a hint to their personality. Bonus points for matching avatars and sigs.

I tend to associate one's avatar with their appearance. Speaking of avatars, we need more people with Pokemon sprite avatars.

If someone has a Zelda related avatar, like most people, I just think they're new. If it's anime, I think "these are the people trying to be cool, regardless if they are or not". If it's a wolf or cat or something, I usually keep away because they're usually nerdy 12 year old boys .

I judged Zien a lot when he was a n00b.
He had this little weird dude on a skateboard, and he was annoying like a n00b, so I got annoyed with him really fast.
