R.I.P. Duncan/Hylie

Really, eh?

Well, I did know him, he was part of my ZU family. He was one of THE nicest members I've ever met. I remember him as one of the first users I saw when I first joined, and then he went to become my ZU uncle. I was thinking why I haven't seen him for a while when I I logged on and then I saw him.

Yes, we should look up to him and this a very tragic and upsetting loss.

I don't even know what to say.

Duncan, I didn't know who you were. I was against your idea of "Zelda In My Pocket" but I hope you rest in peace. May your family be comforted in this hour and may your legacy live on here on ZU

This is ...horrible. It's like losing another Duke of Clubs....

R.I.P. Duncan... i didn't know him cause i'm new but as i can see he was very nice... it's so bad, i hope his family soon feel better

I... I'm so sorry.

Me and him never really spoke much, but I saw him post and he seemed like a really nice guy. His passing is a truly saddened event, compounded by not even being able to see his fourth child before he perished. May his family persevere through this hardship.

R.I.P. Duncan. You will be missed.

Rock in Peace. I never talked to Duncan, but his posts were always wonderful to read. Such an awesome laid back guy. It's always sad when these wonderful people are taken from us.

Oh my gosh...

I'm truly sad to hear this. I knew Duncan when he was Hylie and I was his secret Santa one year. I wrote him a little poem. He wanted to learn more about poetry (particularly rhyming schemes) from me. He was one of the few who said he admired my poems too. Since then I considered him a friend.

Oh...*cries*

Oh, another thing, my support goes to his family. May his children grow up to know they had a great father and like Rew said, if his older children are old enough to read this, I support them too. They could always come to me if they need a hug, and even see the poem I wrote for their loving dad. ;_;

It would be nice if they could find this and know that there's an entire community of people giving their prayers and thought to them.

I'm sort of seeing about that, but yeah, no promises.

*sigh*

His good friend is on the forums, whos name will be disclosed so he doesn't get swarmed with PMs and questions / requests etc, since there is a lot going on in his life right now. But I'm trying to keep in touch with him to see if there is anything I can do along those terms.

Though I'm sure that one day, if it's appropriate, that he will show his wife and possibly children the forums and they'll see this thread, for I shall fetch it for him when, and if, that day comes.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :] As for inspiration, I usually get it from other works I read, and come up with my own stuff using vocab words I pick up and rhyme schemes I come across. I normally pick up the right words rather quickly and use them whenever they make enough sense to use.

Oh...this brings back memories. But because it's going to make me think of my dead friend Duncan in the future when I see it, I may just let it die. I don't want to keep being sad...;_;

I didn't really know him well but I do recall his activity, and all the great posts he made. I remember always thinking him to be such a stand-up guy. Just a few day ago I was kind of wondering where he went. Not wondering anymore. And not happy about it.

Rest in Peace, Hylie. My prayers go out to you and your family, your wife, your kids, etc. You were one of the good ones, and you will be missed.

My prayers, thoughs and love go out to Duncan's family. Losing a parent, I can understand, and losing one to cancer, I can understand that, too. It's terrible. My experience ends, though, when I think on his partner--don't know what it's like to lose someone in that way.

I didn't know him too well, But I've read quite a few of his posts. We never talked...but I knew we'd get along well. It's awful that he's gone.

It's events like this that really remind us of the sanctity of life.

I'm not going to claim to have known this man, but from the generosity and good will of the people here, I can only say that he must have touched the hearts of all he met. I am saddened at not having experienced this gracious man's company, as I can see he was important to all and loved by many.

To his wife and kids, bless you guys. I can't begin to imagine how hard this must be for you. A loving husband, a loyal father and a fierce friend, taken before his time. And, indeed, before anyone here was ready to let him go.
