So what's defined as wild? Dogs cats and many other animals people now consider tame were all wild at one point.

Animals such as chimps would need thousands of years worth of domestication until they can be considered tame on a widespread level.

Chimps are not pets. They are wild animals. So wouldn't it kinda sorta be her fault the chimp attacked her friend because she was keeping a wild animal?

Whether it is the owner's fault or not... The victim is very much screwed for the rest of her life. Her face is nearly gone.. Other people in the area who own chimps (how the hell many idiots own these damn things?) Are all getting rid of them.

And yet people on the radio and such are attack the owner AND the victim. They're furious that the chimp was killed. It's like... If the chimp was replaced with some crazy human... NO ONE would weep for him. But the fact that it's some vicious animal wearing a diaper.. Everyone cries.

The beast seemed effing invincible o.O...

First it gets stabbed with a large knife and it can just run off. Then it gets shot SEVERAL TIMES in the chest by a police officer and then it can run off AGAIN?! Holy crap, that seems like one tough chimp. The lady's hands must've been full of good protein or something.

Yeah, we as humans always think of one of us being killed instantly after being shot in the chest or stabbed in the back. Problem is, wild animals are built far better to withstand that kind of injury, and when one's pissed off they won't even feel it at first. I've read stories about bears taking four rifle shots through the shoulders and not even slowing down. Some animals are just flat-out brutes when they're angered.

I hear the owner gave the thing anti-depressants 5 minutes before the attack?

Coincidence? I think NOT.

And, yeah, some animals are ****ing ferocious. I'm not surprised it was so hard to kill.

This 100%.

Even so, I'm more upset for the poor woman losing her hands and pretty much all of her face after this. She is absolutely screwed and even if she gets a lot of plastic surgery and grafts to repair the damage and replace lost flesh, she will never be the same again.
