Psychology is a technique, and not a science. In some cases, I'm sure your teacher is correct. but given the circumstances....
That "I'll kill myself and make them morn for me!" attitude is a paradox. one of the requirements hat I think a person has o be mentally prepared for suicide is to simply not care about those who may morn. If you want them to morn, clearly you care what they think of you.
Another thing is the communication aspect. Sometimes the threat is made to simply see what kind of rise you can get out of those around you. Suicide is a personal choice and action. Why does a threat need to be made if the person is serious about it? why tell ANYONE who has the power to possibly stop you?
Finally, some would say that the only time suicide is logical is due to no positive influences on ones life whatsoever at all. Seeing as that's technically impossible, the final suicide requirement is INSANITY.
Those who threaten are usually just crying for attention (for example, posting it on a forum full of people you don't know) and don't know other was to obtain it.
