What Makes Weird Dreams So....Weird? 0_0

Does anyone here ever wake up from a weird dream? And then find themselves wondering “what in gods name was that?!” and have that weird thing where your whole body’s numb for a few moments just after you wake up? To tell the truth I’m asking out of true curiosity and here’s why.

A few nights ago I woke up remembering in incredibly strange dream. The strangest thing being I NEVER dream EVER, at least not the kind where you see, hear, and feel what’s going on around you. I stopped dreaming like that a really long time ago! Right so now you’re wondering what the dream was. Promise to take this as part of the discussion and that you’ll take it seriously.(Why do you think I posted it here?) And I’ll tell you…so here’s what happened.

You may find it strange to believe. But I found myself in a huge line for a weird and HUGE rollercoaster that everyone was calling “the best thing ever” or something. What made it weird is that I NEVER ride those things! (Not with loops at least) The thing was called Arkchoms Wrath, and that little movie thing had the opening line like this. “Thousands of years ago god sent a mighty flood as punishment.” And then some guy named Arkchom cuts the narrator off and he’s dressed like god! You know with like a thorn crown on his head and all? Well he’s ranting about what he would do or something. That’s the only spoken parts I remembered at the time. What happened when you got in the actual line was you were in an extremely ornate building designed like a church almost. All of a sudden the room around me is just gone after me and other passengers get into the pew and the lights go out. I mean total cave darkness over here! Anyways you go uphill at ninety degrees for the incline hill. You go down and up seven maybe ten times and the thing actually MADE a sonic boom (Though I’m sure it was for show it didn‘t feel that fast really. Just average coaster speed.) when it took off. You went through three loops, four almost ninety degree turns and then it looks like the tracks coming to an end like that new ride at Animal Kingdom Everest Expedition. You wind up in a room similar to the room at the start after the lights turn on. Unlike a lot of coasters in the halfway point you’re given the option to get off! So I get off and the lights stay on. But the people on it refuse and then get LOCKED into the beast and a fake but incredibly real sounding satan’s voice chimes “You fools have chosen your path!” with the people still acting like they couldn’t see a thing. I get out with a little motion sickness and ask a man “dressed” as the grim reaper what happened to the other passengers. The guy snickers and points at a graveyard with a number of graves saying “they made the wrong choices in LIFE! Now DIE you meddling fool!!” Then he actually tries to cut me down and I pound the dude like freaking Naruto or something. Actually it FELT and “looked” more(The fight was in 3rd person.) like I went Super Sayain Four on the poor guy. When the fight was over I found myself an angel. Not like that I saw one, no I was one! A godly voice called out to me and said “please warn them of their mistake next time.” and then I woke up feeling really, really freaked out.

My folks always seem to think these dreams have true, godly meaning to them. Personally I believe them, at least this one anyway. So now I’m asking you guys here two things. The first question is cause I have faith in my religion.

1: What the heck do you think it meant if it truly was an message from God?

2: What do YOU think makes weird dreams like this so weird? Like is it what you did, watched, or ate or any combination the night before or what??

I think it meant I was supposed to tell people this so they can figure it out on their own. You know like it means something different to everyone? Even with my Christian religion I personally/honestly believe I ate too many cheese crackers before bed. XD

EDIT: I didn’t actually write this topic just now. I wrote it three or so days ago cause I didn’t have internet and knew I’d forget it if I waited. So I used word proccesor and copy/paste. Anyways seriously guys, take this post of mine seriously before responding okay? I deal with enough flames around here as it is! X_X

When you're sick you get odder dreams (called "Fever Dreams").

I'm not a sleep doctor, but it could be based on a variety of things.

Also those cheese things are delicious.

Personally, I think it's probably your subconscious telling you to deal with some issue that's making you/it worry. If, for example, you have a good idea how to 'warn them' (cos I wouldn't have a clue), then it's probably something that you're dying to get off your chest but have bottled up for some reason. Are you worried that someone is making a huge mistake?

Can't be a message from God, seeing as there is no such thing.

Therefore, I think you just had a run of the mill weird dream.

I believe in hidden subconscious meanings for some dreams, but you have to learn to take most of them with a grain of salt.

Once I had a dream about hedgehogs getting married at a ski resort in California. No hidden meaning there.

...At least I hope not....

Usually a dream that is weird can be caused by two things.

1. A sycolotronic halucination (Very rare unless you havea high fever)
2. Any number of random events that happened to you during the day.

A dream is composed of events and thought stuck at the back of your head, and they come out during sleep so your mind can have something to think about while preforming REM.

Weird dreams will happen when you either:

a)Have a a sycolotronic halucination
b)Get high on something
c) Have many things going on in your head.

Period.

Um...I've said a lot about how I despise porn and other things considered "bad" in my religion at least around here. Ether I was ranting or just saying how I feel even WITHOUT any religious intentions/influence. But that's still how I feel, I guess what I (the dream) was saying is the only thing THOSE things lead to is death in some way. Spiritual or physical it doesn't matter, it still does, that's why I intentionally chose to avoid those "things" even without God's help. If I get that weird feeling when I think about seeing a movie or playing a game or doing whatever that I'm not sure of(I mean being good or bad for my religion), I chose not to just to be safe. I mean we're talking about someone who created the universe and in my opinion you wouldn't want them poed at any level toward you. Your personal beliefs are up to you, but that's my choice to trust god in every sense of the word and I'm sticking to it.

At least if there was REALLY some godly meaning to it that's how I feel. The "greatest thing ever" bit might've been a collective opinion of things like porn, smoking, SOME music exct. Things that people(it's different for everyone) end up screwing themselves for cause they're so obsessed with it.

Otherwize I would have to say the cold weather and the food I ate. I mean I had a protein shake, some chicken soup, two pepsi's, a glass of milk, and nearly a half box of them cheeze things among the stuff I "normally" eat. XD not in one sitting of course but still.

Even if the cause of it was the food thing my opinion on God and my religion still stands.

While perhaps this will grow into a very robust discussion, I don't think the best place for it to thrive is the SD. So let's try the GCC and see how it fits there.

Probably just a regular weird dream. I barely dream and when I do, they're weird. Like last night I dreamt that my classmates were all like near me and it was like *shiver* ooh. And this dude what I find slightly slightly attractive was in it. It was weird, weird, weird.

I think it's mostly foods. For me at least, which leads me to believe that it varies with different people. I normally have a bit of a snack before hitting the bed, which results in my having very vivid dreams; which I mostly always remember. However, on the days which I don't eat before I go to bed, I'll normally have a dream that deals with something I did prior to that night (normally duing that day). So, if I gamed a lot, or watch a movie, or talked about something with a friend, etc, I'll have dreams relating to that stuff. It's weird, but I like my dreams.

On the other hand, I find when I think about a certain something quite often, I'll have one really big horrible dream that makes me wake up crying. It's horrendous. But who knows.. anything could casue dreams.

I sometimes have weird dreams but some of them tend to be nightmares. One dream that I had was that I had a lot of power and that it felt good to have power. Shortly after I woke up and of the feeling was still left but it was gone in like 10 minutes. Another dream was that I was coming out of my room and see the refrigerator with my brother in front of it. As soon as I took maybe two steps a drill appears right in front of my brother and drills him in the stomach, then I woke up thinking that he died and I see him sleeping peacefully. I always think I have these dreams because of what I eat before I go to bed.

It's mostly by what we experience and our memories being sorted out in our brains whilst we sleep.

Sleeping causes the brain to have more activities that when we are awake.

But he's.... telling... the truth ;-;

But yeah, weird foods cause that, certain things on the TV if you're sleeping with the TV on affect your dreams, eating at late times, etc.

Sometimes if you get a case of deja vu after a dream, it's not god, it's just basically your body feeling the scenario of the dream irl, and it's acting upon it subconsciously. Perfectly normal and it's happened to me dozens of times, so many dozens I can't remember the first...

I'd say the same thing to religion.

I didn't say anything like I knew everything. I never said "It has to be a God experience because he's real" I just said to not jump to conclusions.

*sigh* I really don't want to start anything this time.

I've always thought that your dreams were replays of your subconscience reaction to everything that happened that day.

I've had many dreams that were similar to the days I had experienced, but included many obscurities and deep thoughts.
