The ZU Meetup Extravaganza. All countries. All continents. One day.

I'm from Wales, UK so really anywhere in the UK is accessible via Train somehow.

DC is about 1000 miles from me. You gotta think of all the South Easterners who wanna come, too!

And you have to think of the Northern ones. DC is pretty much central. Anyways, yes, it is far away. Driving from Central Maryland down to Orlando Florida takes about 14 hours. Driving from the same place to Hershey Pennsylvania is 2 or 3 hours. Driving to Albany NY takes 7 hours. Haven't driven any farther North then that. Point is, any spot along the East Coast is going to be inconvenient for someone, and just about anywhere takes a while to get to. So all we can do is pick the spot that the most people can reach.

It would be sensible to split into two meetups, if there's enough interest. But, as there's currently only 13 people along the East Coast who know this thing exists, and I probably can't go anyways, you're down to probably ten member capable of attending. And if you split that in half, well, there's just not that many people left.

Basically, the best thing we can do for the US is pick some central spot on each side and hope that alot of people are willing to travel far. Or, we can all write letters of protest to our president and tell him to sell half of the country to Canada so that our meetup will include a smaller area.

There's no way my parents are going to let me go all the way to the coast for this. And I don't even now if I'll be home in Lorain, or visiting my sister in Columbus.

let's just have a northeast ohio meetup, lol! there are a lot of us on ZU!

I was discussing the meet up yesterday afternoon in the IRC with Connor and the like.

I believe that it'd be best if the US and Canada could meet in one location. But that probably wouldn't be possible. That said, Chicago is a large city with many parks, restaurants, and whatnot. Plus, it is in the middle of the country. Canadians could travel there with ease.

Yeah...Detroit would be bad. Lansing? Or, if people like the thumb of Michigan...FLINT! The safest part of Michigan!

Edit: North Ohio...that's below Michigan....hmmm....fine with me!

If that's too far though, I'd totally meet up in northern ohio. I live rights smack in the center of the north coast

Is that the actual date for that? If it is then I won't be able to make it after all. Weekdays are bad because of school. That's why the summer would work better.

That sounds pretty cool, but what about those that live 10-20 hours away from Cleveland or wherever along the northeast? That's why I propose Chicago be the meetup location for all the Midwest ZU'ers, even if a good majority of them happen to live in your neck of the woods.

I have ALways been thinking about this idea for as long as I have joined (which wasn't long ago really). :<

Where I live in Australia, I live too far away from the other Australian ZU members. I kind of live in the deserts of the NT... miles and miles away from large cities. But I'll work something out.

I am for it, and can most likely make an appearance. However, a lot of my money will be spent on meeting my dear Australian lass, so, I'm not quite sure where I could squeeze this in.

Still, I am all for the idea, and it's definitely not impossible at all that I would tag along. Who knows, me and Miss. Legend might just both show up for a meetup.

I also do know we have plenty of Swedish members around here, one of which actually lives around thirty-fourty minutes from me.

EDIT: My oldest sister lives in London. Good spot, me like, yes yes.

I too might have a problem with money or visa to afford going there, but I'll see what I can do. It shouldn't be much of a problem hopefully with what I'm earning currently

As my Mr. Will said, it is not impossible for the both of us to tag along. It will be possible, but it will be difficult seeing as I am living Down Under.

But I'd love to get involved definately.

All I can add to this is that Jodd should be coming back over here on February 1st for 2 weeks. So if it was in that time we could get a Brisbane one together or something.

Brisbane seems pretty ideal if it's at that time, because there would be at least 4 ZUers (Bex, Cambria, Jodd and me) who would all be living in Brisbane at the time.

Although I know there are very few out here, I have to tell you, SoCal is beautiful and the weather is great. Not to mention there's a whole lot to do. =D (Mountains, desert, beach, city, Disneyland, etc etc)

If the US westerners are going to do anything in California, North would probably be more convenient for most, including myself, as I'm up in Seattle.

If we're looking for a decent midpoint, Portland is pretty nice. If we aren't looking for a midpoint, then SoCal is fine I guess. That or Seattle. Or the Washington Peninsula, since it's got the Olympic mountains and we could all hike.

Regardless, I'd rather do a midpoint of some sort. It might be less exciting than Seattle or LA, but travel is expensive :/

That said, we'll need to have more than once meetup here. Canada's too big of a place to have everybody gather in one spot.

I really wish I could go to a UK meetup though. Canada sucks arse.
