I'm working on desiging my class ring, and I was wondering, what should I have it made of? White Lustrium or White Gold?
Can anyone with a ring made of either [or even rings made of both] give some input, maybe some pros and cons of each metal? I kind of want Lustrium for its price, but White Gold is nicer looking, and more precious.
I think Lustrium is cheaper and looks as ~10kt gold. On another pros side, white Lustrium has the luster of white gold, but it doesn't tarnish.

My sister had Lustrium, and I have gold. The gold is better in quality. Her's started to warp only after a few months of wearing it. Of course, it was feminine and the band was thin, so it probably warped much easier. My best friend has a lustrium ring, but her's is thicker. As far as I know, it hasn't warped, but then again, she's never mentioned it.
However, mine is still looking shiny, hasn't warped nor bent, is very feminine in its shape, and is in great quality. Obviously, you don't have to worry about thin bands because you're a guy, but still. =)
D: Yeah, seriously, don't go with the lustrium. That stuff is seriously corrosive and won't last you more than a few years, no matter how hard you try to take care of it.
The white gold will go a bit dull over time, since I'm assuming it's got a layer of rhodium for shine, but it won't be bad.
As long as you're not allergic to nickel, the white gold is definitely the way to go. :3
Alright, I've made up my mind. I'm gonna spring for the extra 200 bucks or so and get white gold =3.
That's pretty much the only reason I made the thread, my mom will pay 300 towards my ring, and I hafta pay what's left. Getting white gold is gonna kick it up to around 500-600, but from the sounds of it, it's gonna be worth it.
Andi, you jerk. You didn't even invite me to go to your wedding and be all like "DAWWWWH!" But $600? Holy crap! My parents bought me mine after I repeatedly told them I didn't want it. Do you think I could pawn this thing off for a wedding dress? I'd much rather have one of those. >.>
Well, got my ring all designed and ordered and everything. Went with 10-kt white gold a sunburst cut blue zircon [my birthstone.] Whole shebangs gonna be around $528.95
