Firstly there is nothing you can understand that you cannot explain, simply that words will escape you. I'm nineteen, by the way.

Secondly the "right" person does not exist, you simply have to find someone you're compatible with when it comes to relationships. And they would get boring precisely for that reason.

I know I am younger, but I still bare to mind that I believe such knowledge from family members close to me who have said such things and have passed away a few years ago.

Possibly a very close friend as well as loving them. If it is just love and sex and no commitment, then you'll find that the relationship might not even last an entire year.

Doesn't mean they were right. Like I said, it's not a case of "being old enough" to understand. You don't just suddenly gain knowledge by being older.

yes. It's almost turned into a spiritual sado-masochistic routine of sorts. It becomes almost cathartic after a while. I dunno, it's hard to explain; but in all honesty I'm not historically the most perceptive person towards others IRL. I'm often in my own little space bubble and people just kind of enter and leave (or I kick them out).

Pisses off is perhaps the wrong phrase: I think extremely frustrated is better suited for my more later predicaments. More recently it's been just disappointment.

Love, if things have turned out for the worst can lose your fate on it.

For now, love confuses me. Perhaps as Lelouch said, I'm just too young.

In my experience, it is the youthful that understand love the best. Something about age seems to kill it, or at least broaden it so much that the word itself loses all meaning.

I would have to agree on half of that statement.

Isn't it true that love stabilizes with age? You see teenagers dumping their partners after a few weeks...

Adults after their mid-twenties seem to stablize their love than by just playing around with it.

They start to seek out for a partner that can bear children, as well as loving them just as much.

This does not happen in young adult love... hardly.

well now we are fusing practical love with emotive, or personal love.

They are two different things I think.
Where teens don't necessarily have to worry about one, "adults" often worry more about the other kind it would seem....

yes. me too.

You see things in a very naive light EL, things they really don't change, the consequences just become more severe.

The whole point is to not become emotionally dependent on someone, that is the whole point of growing up, to stop relying on someone else to care for you and to start caring for yourself.

If you trade one dependency for another, you have achieved nothing.

Do not tell me to emotionally depend on oneself.

You have no idea what I went through and I don't ever want you to guess.

Aziel, sometimes it is best to not go so far into someone's personal life where things are terrible and are hard to grasp.

What has happened to me is not what you have described intentionally.

It's true that love of any kind is a double-edged sword. Whether it's romantic or platonic love, becoming attached to someone is setting yourself up for sadness when that person is gone.

But at the same time, having no one to care for and confide in can be extremely painful. I've never had an actual relationship, but I have experienced this with the love I have for my family. Sometimes I feel like they don't care what I think for feel, and that drives me crazy. Sometimes I feel that the affection I get from other people is fake, and it's an awful feeling. I need to depend on someone. I don't agree with the concept of growing up as losing dependency on people. We're human and we're not perfect, so we're always going to need friendship and support from others.

And... I basically just did a Yu-Gi-Oh!-style friendship speech.

As for romantic relationships, the closest I ever came to one was a trip to the movies with my friend when I was eight. I had a crush on her at the time. Then she said she didn't like me that way. I... I just... I--I thought we had something special...
