Art Secret Santa

I (with Warp Star's help) would like to put together an art-only Secret Santa. Art included would be drawings (digital or traditional), homemade AMVs/GMVs, and writings like short stories and poetry.

Basically, you would sign up, names would be drawn from a hat, and you would be given another person's name to create a gift for them. Someone else will do the same for you. There will be a more set criteria/more information later.

I know that there are other Secret Santas that will be occuring this year but would you want just an art-only one?

Seems a bit too early for Christmas stuff, but I guess if we started right after Thanksgiving, I'd totally do it.

I like this idea. Just one problem...I'm not that creative.

That is why I am starting this now.

That way, I can have an official sign-up thread with the established rules, set close time, time for creation of art, and a deadline with a couple weeks extension or me making art for those that drop out.

Don't worry, you would have something to work with like that person's original character, favorite movie, music, ect.

Yay good! That will ensure the success of this project. I'd totally be for it then! Plus, its Christmas time, and it'll bring everyone closer together for the holidays! ^_^

True. I think I'll sign up. It's the thought that counts, right?

I have already talked with margar about the different Secret Santas that happen within the clans and the big one done with actual sending of material gifts (spending money) and what not.

I figured having an art only one would be fun because it is cheap and pretty much anybody can either draw, make tribute-like videos, or write a short story/poetry.

Excellent, I might be working on a large piece to Christmas... but sadly I'm gone whole of December. How would it work out for me?

If I get enough go on this, the official sign-ups could begin next week and stay open until November 15. The same day, I can send out names and finished pieces would have to be submitted say December 22. I would then send them all out on Christmas Eve/Christmas morning.

I don't draw much, but I could make a good one if I knew in advance. I'm in.

It's good to see all of this positive feedback. I will be working on getting together the official rules and stuff this week with Warp Star.

I voted no without thinking, because I suck at art, but then I saw that you could do writing as well. I couldn't do a drawing, whether digital or otherwise, but I could probably do a story.

I figured if we include videos and writings, more people would participate. I wasn't too sure how to do the writing but then Warp Star said she wouldn't mind a short story for her, so I went from there.

I wrote a story for my secret santa once. Its not that hard. Very fun it is. Maybe I can paint a picture and write a story to go with it...

That would really great. I will make sure to add that to my list of rules and such as an option.

Does using sprites to make a picture count?
