Well I'm from Scotland so it is near enough heh. Also I have the pub underneath me and it is a Celtic (the football team) based so there will be ALOT of drinking tonight...

Today didn't feel like ST. Patty's day, hardly anyone wore green, including myself. But it makes me feel like getting drunk....shame that will never happen XD

pretty much sum up my feelings about St. Patricks day.

No, wee learned about the entire history of St. Paricks Day in school today. It's no where near an excuse to get drunk. I believe it is supposed to celebrate the death of Saint Patrick. Though the holiday was made in the US, it is widely celebrated in Japan, US, Ireland, England, Autrailia, and even more countries. Actually, drinking was almost banned for St. Parick's Day once.

Well, I didn't know today was St. Patrick's day... :p I feel like a fool. But anyways in our school nothing was going on, except a lady in my American Lit. class was wearing a green hat...

Now that we know that we are celebrating the death of St. Patrick... now all we need to know WHY we celebrated his death... makes you wonder... why was St.Patrick a St. if people wanted his death?

Saint Patrick's Day is the greatest day in the entire year. I don't drink and I mean that. It is the day when I can be not only proud of my Irish herritage, but rub it in your face. When I think of St Patty's Day, I think of the brave men and women who gave their lives to gain their freedom. They never gave up, they always tried and they persevered!!! Now the Irish have their nation. We ovecame! Here is a song that I feel truly expresses the Irish spirit.

But the fact is, on Saint Patrick's Day, you don't have to have green blood to be happy. Everybody is Irish on March 17th! Happy Saint Patty's Day!

And Jehuty, we celebrate this amazing day because Saint Patrick was able to make Ireland into a Catholic country. This has defined my nation and my people and it defines me. His work and his sacrafice is what has made me the person that I am!

I didn't pinch anyone at school, but I did get to pinch one one of my older brother's friends. I like St. Patrick's day because it's a fun day. I hadn't seen any drunken idiots in the US on this hloday. Maybe it's because we're no where near Ireland...

I'm completely with IrishSamurai.. This is a day where I completely look back at my heritage and smile. Everyone needs to know where they come from, and I'm just proud to be irish....

Lol i was hoping some1 would say this to me, the reason why i was saying that samuri is that people in america that have no irish heritage at all go out and drink because they think its an excuse, and that thats the reason for this holiday. Therefore i do not like this holiday, go downtown in any major city, you may see what i mean.
