Yeah, I curse quite a bit, and always have cursed quite a bit. Especially when I'm feeling angry or sad, I can swear like a sailor. You really don't want to hear the stuff I call my brother on a regular basis. :3

I also regularly swear at my dad, but that's all in good spirit and he knows I don't mean it. Actually, I do this to several friends and acquaintances that know me well enough to know I don't really hate them as well.

I also very often use swear words for comedic emphasis (And a note to those reading this that are getting ideas: swearing does not equal auto-funny-ness), and the characters I write tend to swear a lot as well, partly because I like to have stuff in common with my characters and partly because I like to consistently make their lives miserable. :3


Though I do really hate it when some 13-year-old thinks swearing a lot will make him all tough and therefore drops f-bombs at least twice per sentence.

I curse quite frequently. :p. Not as bad as some people I know, but still pretty bad. :3

I do curse a lot, but generally not in the hope of offending anybody. Me and my friends have always found amusement in calling each other the most vulgar things that we can. You could say it's kind of like a sign of affection, as strange as that may sound.

I also have a tendency to swear a lot to overly exaggerate things. Again, not to cause offence, more so for comedic effect. That mainly happens in the work place. :>

I hardly swear, even when I am tempered and irritated. It just isn't my everyday language. I find it useless to solve my feelings on the situation. It makes me even more irritated.

But I swear a bit when I am mucking around or joking around close friends.

Not when I am in a negative mood though.

It depends what you mean by cursing. If you mean like oh ****, then no. But if you mean like cursing like, oh bugger! then i do curse sometimes. My brother used to swear an awfuul lot, but now he says " son of a biscuit!!!"

I think cursing is immature. There's no point to it. "Spicing up my sentences" is not a good excuse.

That being said, I swear sometimes, which is more out of habit than intentional. I used to swear a whole lot during middle school, then managed to quit altogether for a while.

Then my Senior year of high school came along.

It was so full of deadlines and irony laughing me in the face everywhere that I turned, along with a combination of other things...that I finally cracked, and cursing was almost commonplace for me. Not that I do it in public or regularly put them in sentences while talking to someone, but when something happens to me that I do not like, I sometimes let it slip.

But...does this make me a hypocrite for saying that I think cursing is bad? Heck no. I recognize it as bad and have been doing my best not to swear. I've been doing tons better, but now I need to work on my anger.

EDIT: I've been watching a lot of Battlestar Galactica lately, and have been entertaining the thought of using "Frack" or "Frak" as a substitute. Also, in Zeldish, I invented "Fizz" as a substitute.

I think I've cut back on my swearing a bit since I'm usually hanging out with a couple of friends that severely frown upon it/don't know that I do.

Whenever I'm alone or with people that don't care, I curse quite a bit. I tend to juxtapose a lot, and most of the time, I don't even notice. For instance, I'll say in the most loving tone, "I ****ing love you. <3" Does that fit? I think not! But since whomever I'm saying that to knows me extremely well, they'd know that swearing is just part of my vernacular.

I used to curse like a sailor, but like I said, I've cut back a lot. I'm somewhat proud of myself, actually.

Much like Kemata said, when you're around friends you try to cut back in the swearing but when you're around other friends who swear more frequently, it's very influential. I used to be worse when it came to swearing (say, a few years back) and now it's very rare when I swear. I won't use swear words in random sentences, e.g. "that was effing awesome!" I'll use it in such sentences, e.g. "that film was shiit."

Swear words are filthy, and should only be used in such contexts. They are also very strong, and I don't like to use it too much because then when you do use it in the right context, there's no emphasis or anything.

Depends on the situation and surroundings.

Most of the time it is "WTF?" for disbelief or surprise. Other than that I don't really cuss unless I am grumpy.

There's a time and place for everything; before you curse, know who's going to hear you.

Evading the Swear Filter in Real Life is an infractable offense, just as it is in any other MMO!
