Is the length of time something has existed a good measure of it's worth?

I was wondering a few minutes ago. And most of time I have found, this has held true for just about everything.

People, generally; the older they get, the less likely they are to be complete asshats. However, people tend to use age as a justification for authority rather than an explanation, something that has caused a lot of problems.

I honestly think it could go both ways (that is, cool for some, not cool for others)

Human suffering's been around for a while...
The Pokemon cartoon?

What exactly do you mean by "worth?" Do you mean good for humanity? Do you mean it's a particularly strong thingy?

Depends on the subject. Wine of course, the older the better. Something can be really incoherent and plain 'ol stupid and if aged will remain an idiocy. It depends 100% on the subject being considered.

There's a line that is crossed when an antique just becomes junk. And vice-versa. Camp is a good example of this (not the kind you go to during your summers to have fun).

Generally, if it's something that can't be upgraded or improved upon, ie it is constant, then I think if something is good when it first is created or comes out, it will remain so. In other words, wine goes through changes as it ages that can (but doesn't always) make it better. Something like music, on the other hand, doesn't. A piece of music doesn't 'evolve' or change once it comes out. A band/artist/composer can, but the physical bits of music can't, once they are created.
