So, ZU?

What were you like, 5 years ago and browsing the internet? Were you mature? Or were you a complete blimey idiot?

I myself was the latter, but that could be blamed that I was 9/10 when I first started browsing, and that's just dangerous. I matured around the time I started to dabble in the more sexual side of the internet, and it played an obviously large part in who I am now.

Apparently 5 years ago I had amazing smallville boy-esque theorizing powers.

Five years ago, I was a noob, well the only thing I did was looked at stuff on the Nintendo website and emailed a few family members, that's it.

When I first registered on ZU AOL email blocked the email from ZU and I did not get the email verifying(sp) my registration. It took me about a year to figure it out. And that's what started my growing hatred of AOL. (though I still use my AOL AIM name and email)

I got my first (and only) warning the first day I started posting here.

Five years ago on the internets.. I was a lot more naiive. I thought using "lol" was cool and acceptable.. and never really felt the need to capitalise my i's <.> >.> <.<
But apart from that, I'd say the question isn;t "how were you 5 years ago ON THE INTERNET" rather than it being more "what were you like as a PERson?". Because, to my knowledge, that's the only thing that seperates how I am online then to today.
I was a lot more naiive and innocent. A lot more courageous (yes, I've sissified out bEAUtifully during the past few years >.<) and a lot more argumentative than I am now (YO, HIND! :>>> )

Five years ago, huh... I was almost fourteen. I had only been here for a year or some more.

I was very stubborn, at some times hyperactive, and would easily get into fights -- flaming and fanboyism were my favourites. I also recall straight out insulting Lars (founder of the site for those that don't know who I mean) for some petty reason.

I pretty much only posted in the Zelda sections as well. After that I grew more mature yet much colder, though I feel I've done a lot about the latter these last few years.

In some ways I was pretty mature for a newbie, and in others I was just like the typical one.

Oh and, it was William_Zelda4Ever back then. I changed to Lord William (being the wannabe Sith Lord I was) but found it silly after a short while and switched back to my current name.

DrZaius1 and lord-of-shadow were frequently pains in my ass, but I still love 'em.

Well, I found this post dueing the Famous Lars' Gamespot April Fools' prank - http://www.zeldauniverse.net/forums/179924-post315.html <--- and it has emphasis caps there for one of the words! =D so it started as early as back then! :>

Okee, this is something I wish you guys to answer: Do yOU feel comfortable enough on ZU to just be able to post and make threads easily whenever you want? because it took *ME* years to not feel very self-conscious and shy in posting (and especially thread making). I only started relaxing and feeling I was part of this place after I hit 3 years of membership :> tHEn I thought "I'm not a newbie anymore!" :>

anyone else feel so?

Actually, I've made over 155 threads, and my first was in the first month of my joining!

Five years ago, I barely got any time on the internet. Five years ago, I hadn't experienced a forum.
Five years ago, all I did was take turns playing Cartoon Network and Disney games at school with other fifth-graders! XD
