Re: Animals
I'm a fan of exotic animals. Animals that live in rainforests and jungles. Specifically, I enjoy reptiles like snakes and lizards. My favorites are the kinds that live in trees.
EDIT: By the way, Dorkie_Yorkie, by your signature, I can see you're a fan of Jurassic Park. My favorite movie. ![]()

I used to like wolves. =/
Not uncommon; I know a lot of people who do. >.> Now I don't have a favorite animal. They're all just the same to me. Now don't get mad. I don't mean that offensively. I just don't have a favorite. >.>

Horses, Red Pandas, and Sea Lions are some of my favorite animals. Certainly not my only ones. I've always thought of purchasing something here. Animal Shirts - Wildlife T-Shirts

First, my dad and grandpa are afraid of them. I keep saying I can keep it in my room in a glass tank. It can't get out, and it's not like anyone actually goes in my room or anything. Their second excuse is that I can't take care of it. I'm taking care of a puppy, which craps and eats every couple of hours, and needs my constant attention. I think I can handle a snake, which rarely ever moves or eats.

Re: Animals
There seems to be a problem in your list of favourite animals, for one of them does not exist. (Koalas are not bears)

The red fox. Such a nice and intelligent animal. And definitely the happiest animal of the forest, too

Re: Animals
I am a big fan of the Great Apes--Orangutans, Gorillas, Chimps and Bonobos. The Primate section is my favorite part of the zoo.
Their intellectual capacity is a cut above the other animals and it shows and it shows in the way they interact with one another and their environment. Observing their morphological similarity to us almost makes me feel uncomfortable. The way the Gorilla laid down the last time I was at the zoo, for example, was eerily similar to the way my dad lies down the couch. He even scratched his ass the same way ![]() The apes have always been my favorite animals, but I gained a much deeper appreciation for them after my biological anthropology course (which also happened to be by far my favorite) last year. I feel I have a strong understanding of the important similarities and differences we share. Wolves are another long time favorite. They're always a disappointment at the zoo, though, since they never show themselves (not that I blame them).

Re: Animals
True, they aren't bears. But "Koala bear" is still a common name for them. Like prairie dogs; they aren't really dogs, right?

Koalas are considered the bears of Australia.

Re: Animals
Interestingly enough, there's an Australian legend about a giant Koala-like monster that falls from trees and eats people.

It's a funny urban myth that has been created here for many years. It's to associate with drunk Koalas or such that fall out of trees. Or there is the Bunyip that is an Australian cryptid that supposebly lives in the Billabongs of Australia. It is a bear like looking creature that is massive and practically eats anything.
