Stuff I Found in the Garbage Today.

So my sister and I are riding our skateboards down this street when we come across one of those huge long many-some-odd-ton open-top dumpsters in front of a relatively small, seemingly abandoned house. You know, it was one of those types of dumpsters that you only see when your house is being foreclosed because your mother recently neglected to pay her tab at Denny's. We knew something good was up the second we saw a coffee pot sticking out amongst the fray. So we went to work, and throughout the course of the evening, we made away with the following:

1. Two computer video cards (some sort of geforce 2 and a "Number Nine Imagine 128").

2. Three cell phones, one home phone, and one of those special company field work phones. You don't know how bad it freaked me out though when I instinctively snatched up the cell phone, dialed 1-800-EAT-(EDIT) as my first call, and my ear was greeted by the voice of Darth Vader trying to get me to switch to Verizon.

3. A portable CD / Tape player AND a two-speaker home stereo system.

4. A London Fog Ox Blood Leather Jacket, which fits me like a glove.......in jacket form.

5. Three or four pairs of size 9 shoes. My sister is size 9.

6. One tub of Almond scented Kama Sutra lubricated massage cream, although at this point, believe me, I was well beyond lubricated enough to start massaging myself.

7. A bag full of M-90's and three wierd fireworks with propellers.

8. One Sony MVC-FD7 Digital Camera, which runs on 3.5 inch disks, and is cool as hell. So when my neighbor's private parts get blown off in some horrible fireworks accident involving an M-90 and the neighborhood stray cat's anus, I promise to send pictures to all you friends of mine from t3h 1nn4rw3b!

9. A bottle of wine and about a dozen fresh beers. Okay, well we didn't find the beers until breaking into the house and raiding the fridge but that's beside the point.

10. A brand new, complete wooden chess set.

11. Fifteen dollars and a guitar pick.

12. An awesome guitar strap (didn't find the guitar though, unfortunately...)

13. A Canon printer.

14. A Beastie Boys patch.

15. Several CD-Rs, half of which were blank, and half of which had Morrisey compilations burned onto them, perhaps alot like how the image of your naked grandmother was burned onto your mind that one time when she didn't know you were getting home from school earlier than usual one day.

16. 5 computer games: Starcraft, Starcraft Expansion Set, Half-Life, Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, not to mention a sega genesis complete with a controller and three crappy sports games.

17. A messed up wicked-lookin computer motherboard thing, I really have to look into this more to see if it's worth anything, it looks like it may be for running a server.

18. One of those wall-mounted Big Mouth Bass fish that sing Don't Worry Be Happy.

19. A Soundblaster sound card, two hard drives, and a "SUPERIOR GRADE" memory upgrade from the year 1994 for 8 megabytes.

20. A fireproof safe, with the key still in the lock.

21. An IOMEGA zip drive.

22. The keyboard I am currently typing on. The old one served me well, up until the point where I tried to type "the internet" and numbers ended up in it...

23. Two bottles of prescription pain killers.

24. 3 complete personal computers, which I am going to take apart tonight and see what's up.

25. And just as I was wondering how the hell I'd go about lugging this stuff six blocks back home, we found two bookbags and a carry-on luggage-type-thing.

On the way home, I noticed a penny on the ground, which was tails side up.

I hate my luck.

Dang either those people where rich and just had to thow some junk away or that was their actual house.. lol! that was a good find there!

but really, does everythig works? becouse i find it very suspicus that all that very expensive stuff was trown out like that..... are you shure it was dumpster and not a container for moving?

Desturbing enough is the thought of two ZUers rifling through somone else's trash, but what if the trash wasn't and was actually their stuff to take when moving house?

It's garbage, it was in a dumpster. If anything, Torino is doing a deed to the enviroment by taking it! Better it be put into use than to have it fill the landfills even further.

Keep an eye out for any ads saying that their dumpster got broken into.

That seems kind of nasty, it seems like all that stuff would be dirty. But if it works, then that worked out way good for you.

Do you know why I doubt this...because 90% of it was pretty nice expensive things, and the other 10% was part of a pretty nice expensive thing. And you didnt find any REAL garbage...Just random nice things...

Oh yeah...and the cell phone was still charged...as you said you picked it up from the trash and made a phone call...yet it was in the garbage of an abandoned house...

PS. I also highly doubt that you broke into an abandoned house and found electricity with the plugged in refrigerator and FRESH beers...

That post certainly wasn't the worst, but please, try to put a wee bit more content in there from now on. Oh, and the reason why your signature was edited because it was breaking the rules by a fair margin.

As for the thread, that's some crazy stuff that you've found in there. One person's trash is another's treasure. I wouldn't be too concerned about who owns it, considering that it was in a dumpster, but there's a chance you may have pissed off some hobos in your "thefts". Still, I wouldn't be too concerned with it...if it's in the garbage, then the reason it's there is because nobody wants it in the first place, generally.

Man, I'd love to run across stuff like that in the garbage. If that was regular garbage stuff, I wouldn't mind living in a dumpster....If it had a phoneline and internet connection.

I wish I was that lucky to find all that stuff. Why would someone throw that away?

It's probably already been said but...why in the world were you looking in a dumpster to begin with?

You must have some kind of luck, because all I ever find is old furniture that was crappy to begin with...

imtotly serious here. once i found a cash register 4 old navy with 6,847 dollars in it on my way home from scool in a dumster. i also found a set of discontinued marvel action figures. (flash, batman,superman,hawk lady,green lantern,jon,wunder woman) i sold them and got bout 500 bucks 4 all of them, beet that luk, ohh wait, i can! wen we moved into the nu house, i found the full set of pokemon card (the joto and kanto version) it had evry hallo and all of the crda werein english to.
