The true meaning of life

What is the true meaning of life? Many ponder this question, and no, the answer is NOT 42. So what exactly do you beleive the meaning of life is? Why are we all here, is it for a purpose? Do we all exist for a reason? or Are we just the result of the big bang?


I honestly don't know why any of us are here, or if we all are here for a reason, but I do know that we are in fact "here" and that we should make the best of what short time we have to live "here".

As I would say, humans have no real one true meaning. Only machines have a purpose.

Make your own purpose. It's your decision.

Wrong. I refute God. He was designed to try and understand the world, but we now have science for that. He is obsolete. Therefore I will not serve an imaginary being.

Yes, because it's actually believable.

I believe the meaning of life in a biological sense is to procreate and pass on our genes so that our race may survive (someone correct me if I am wrong).

Yes, because it's actually believable.

Alright to each his own when it comes to religion, but even if you are religous I don't think people's lives all have the same purpose, if you have a talent and a dream your purpose in life is to fufill that dream. I don't think you can say life has a universal goal.

Really? Why do I need to explain this belief? It's been proven so many times. Fossils, the Strata Layers, DNA. Come on, it explains itself.

@The Metal: Cut that out. You have no right to diss other peoples beliefs. I take no sides; I personally don't fully believe in anything, but I'm not sure, so I don't really disbelieve in anything either. But anyway, stop acting like that; it's rude, and kinda cruel.


Me, I try not to think about it too much. The more I think about it, the more I feel insignificant and purposeless. So I just stop thinking about it.

Personally, I find the assumption, implicit in this discussion, that there is a single, true meaning of life to be kind of silly. Life's a pretty complex thing.

But then again I think just about all philosophy is kind of silly, so make of that what you will.

To live out the purpose. :/
