Mother's Day

Alright, it's that time of the year. Mother's Day! Well, I'm aware of the global differences for all of us here, so while it's a little after 8:30am for me right now, the time for all of you must be...*counts on fingers*...*brain implodes*.

Well, I was just wondering what everyone's moms did, got, didn't do, or otherwise indulged in on Mother's Day. Did she get a gift? Several gifts? Was she taken out to eat or enjoy something? Did she spend the day relaxing? Maybe even napping for most of the day? Again, it's morning and earlier for some of us, so does she have anything planned for herself? Do you have anything planned for her?

I bought my mom a pedicure set and a loofa. I also got her a card and I made her another card. She was very happy and were going out to lunch with the family today. It's too bad though cause my dads in India so he can't be here to celebrate mothers day.

I need to buy my mom a card. I ALWAYS get her a card, and since I've been busy, I neglected to pick one up this week. ;_____;

So, I have to run out this morning, and get one. My mom is just happy if I even see her on Mothers Day.

Yes, that's how it is every year. :3

But this year, she wants to see IRON MAN!! So, I'm trying to get ready real fast, and make plans with her and my father to see it this afternoon.

Sweden doesn't celebrate Mother's Day until the last Sunday in May, so there's still some time left for me to plan something. >_>

And I'm fairly sure the British Mother's Day was some time ago, so it doesn't really bother me. But if it was Mother's Day over here...well, I'm two hundred miles away from home, so the best I could do is ask my sister to put some flowers on the grave.

That's exactly what I should have done before blabbing off . But still, I know my sister in-law would get around that by saying every day should be mother's day. Lol.

Well, I know my mom is spending the morning chatting away on the phone (yes, the phone). And then there's the whole breakfast in bed thing. I'm not sure what my sister got her, but she was out for a long time yesterday. I know my mom likes African animals. so I took that into account XD. I just hope that the gift isn't too repetitive...

I always give something I´ve made myself to my mother, and if I haven´t my brother has so i´ll buy it from him and then give it away.

I got my mum a small bag for her to put stuff in so it won't get jumbled in with the rest of the stuff in her handbag. I also got her some tulips, her favorite flower.

Got my Mumsy a big cake, cards and some other stuff.
My cousin got theirs a nice vase to replace that old one, and got handcream to go with it. 50 dollars worth for 15!

Yes, I reckon my aunt is going to do the same thing today. I'm sorry for your loss, by the way.

Mother's Day is a sad occasion for me, not only because I'm now motherless, but the day of my mom's death (May 5) also falls so close to Mother's Day. A week ago marked the 9-year anniversary of her passing. Heck, I even remember that it was Mother's Day 1999 when we were making the long drive up to Maryland for her funeral.

Er, but I don't want to cast a gloomy cloud over this thread or anything. In the time since her passing, mainly at my church, I've gotten to know many others who have functioned more or less as mother figures for me. It's as if I've lost one and gained many! Yet not even all of them together can replace her of course, nor will anyone be able to do that.
