ZU Veterans - Show us some of your old posts!

So, some of us have been around for a long time, and it's always interesting to go back and see some old posts of yours. I really wish that there was record of the forums before July 1st 2003, when the forum was wiped for reasons I cannot remember, so more of my noobtastic posts could be seen, but oh well.

This thread is for nostalgia and laughs, so I'll kick it right off. :3

Number one, I just love this thread:

Zu Is Up!!!

And now, for some Asci!

I think there's a new forum that might just beat out all the ones mentioned there.

A short story I wrote about a newbie's journey onto Zelda Universe. Nostalgic. <3

Ascius has left the building...
And, of course, there's my leaving thread, which caused much sadness around the forum. :<

The Deku Leaf is very cool! I also liked Link's expressions, like when the mailbox coughs up a letter or something
I also still like the part where he gets shot into the Forsaken Fortress by the pirates
LOL one of the things I just love to do is that big spin attack, as long as possible and then the stars round his head and his eyes and stuff.. it's just funny imo
I liked the music in the game, but I do think there could've been a little more classic zelda tune..
I also think I like the fact t hat they don't say everything, just some silly sounds.. I dunno why I, just like it and well yeah it does leave something to imagine.

also I liked Link's hair! when he's not wearing his tunic yet it's cute!
LOL. Contrary to what I *thought*, I apparently have touched the Zelda forums at one point in time. This is a painful revelation :<

I used the word cool?

Amazing. Will ZU see the day where Hasaki is once again banned? ;0)

I suppose this is all necessary for the good of ZU...especially during the summer months.

Okay, and for the sake of the thread:

God, this is depressing. From my welcoming topic:
Quote:
Hey everyone, I just registered here under the guidance of one of my friends, who goes by the name MERCUTIO here. i met takeshi (or merc i guess) through his homestay, who is one of my friends. anyway yeah, merc has been helping me out with my japanese studies recently and i spotted him surfing the forums, asked him about them, and decided to join!

what to say... i'm 14, living in Brisbane, Australia - where i was born. hmmm... i'm interested in Asian culture and entertainment (one of the reasons why merc rocks... cds xD) and i am learning japanese, and have in the past learnt mandarin chinese and korean.

i hope to make some friends here, it seems like a nice community...
What ever happened to proper capitalization and punctuation, Eijiro!?

From a thread about "respect":

Wow, how things changed...

I found this delightful thread. It makes me long a bit for the days when everyone knew everyone else. A thread like this today would be locked straight off because it wouldn't mean anything, but back then it was BIG NEWS.

And, BBD, you will NEVER take my Craziest from me! :3

But wait, there's more!
Quote:
Might as well post here. I'm only 14 years old, and I am definately still a virgin. I have no intention to be loosing my virginity anytime soon. I'm not waiting 'till marriage for it, but I am waiting until I'm ready for it, and I am waiting for the right girl also.

If you ask my opinion, I hear alot of people my age at school talking about their sexual deeds, and it makes me sick. All the people here seem to be mature enough to handle it, but it's a completely different story with people at my school. They seem to treat every girl they have intercourse with as another "trophy on the stand", and they'll flaunt it around and brag about it for days, until a new one comes along.
My god, this made me laugh pretty hard. How times have changed.

Well, parts have changed a lot, and parts have stayed the same. Part of me was very naive back then, and I think I've wisened up a lot and become more of a realist, if anything.

On this board however the quality of the posts is high, good job moderators!
Well, apparently ZU has been good enough for me to more or less stick around! :-P

I'm not saying that they don't make their fair share of mistakes though. I still play my N64 now even though the controller is so crapped up that i cant even run when playin zelda. Goldeneye has to be the best 1st person shooter ever made I rekon. I doubt that other companies would be able to produce such timeless classics as this. But oh well i dont know that much anyrate thats just my 2 cents
xD Oh, woes to be me. I couldn't afford a GCN as I spent all of my money on skateboarding equipment! Haha.

Definitely I did... but then again, I almost listen to 0 Japanese pop groups anymore. I listen to a few bands from Japan, but that's about it. In the past year or so my musical taste has really changed dramatically.

Yeah, the funny thing is that today the content would not change. As Nen said, I would write it in paragraphs with more polysyllabic words, but apart from that not much would change. I only buy one or two Nintendo games a year, usually after they've been released for a good many months.

Yeah, indeed. I think if anything, spending a year over in Japan actually widened my perspective and allowed me to branch off and discover stuff outside of Japanese music; which I think is very important. In fact, most of the music I listen to these days was recorded before I was born.

Lullatone are really awesome chill-out music. I think the recorded disc doesn't really measure up to the live performance, but it really does fit the bill of "Pajama Pop". It's the kind of thing you could easily just drift off to sleep to. Will bring it along next time I see you!

Yeah, indeed, I think the most major thing that changes with everyone is the way they format their posts, and of course the amount of proper grammar and varied vocabulary they use. I guess it kind of comes naturally as you age and grow older with the board.

Yeah, indeed ;0) I used to write super large posts, but now I'm laconic (but not to a fault).

I guess I've just learned that some things don't need to be said. This is reflected in my day-to-day speech, as well.

I really would not like to. Thankfully, it's impossible. You see, I'm so ashamed of everything I do and say that I delete all posts I make that are older than two months. So there's no good trying to look for them. None at all.
