Well, yeah, but I think that sort of thing is more to do with your personality than maturity. Then again, personality changes as you mature. To be mature means to be fully developed -- there is no way anyone is fully developed in their teenage years.

Remember thorugh, there are older people who, even in their higher age, cannot support themselves, smany due to sheer laziness.

Now, whose to say a fifteen year old can't handle themselves out of their own... Now, honestly, probably not many, but the point I'm trying to make is that their are some, some who understnad what has to be done and can do it.

I'm thirteen.

But I'll be fourteen in, like... Nine months.

So today at work some of my co-workers were talking about throwing a fellow co-worker a surprise party for his 48th birthday, and it was then I realized how young I am compared to everyone else I work with. Twas a happy feeling.

I am 22, I will be 23 in August. I have been here since *does quick calculations* 17 I think.

Yeah I agree, when I was 15 I was looking after a household while my parents were away at work; they worked impossible hours sometimes and I had to grow up pretty fast.

On the other hand a friend of mine is just leaving home for the first time (he is 23) and he has no idea about things like rent, food and electricity bills, he didn't even understand superannuation until I explained to him.

In the end it all comes down to maturity and life experience that counts, age is just a number.

I'm 19. Don't think that makes me an adult though. Altougth I 've been told by a few people that i look like i'm in my 20s.

I'm sixteen, so yeah, I'm in your teen catagory. Seems like were the majority here. Not really much to type in this thread.

Indeed so. I have a friend who's older than I (she's 28, will be 29 in September) but still can't support herself or move out of her parents' house. But then again, she does have a mental handicap.

I don't know of any specific teenagers who have been on their own and supported themselves well, but I'm sure they're out there.

After I graduated from college, I was getting my hair done and the lady asked me which school I went to. She meant, which high school I went to.

My twenty-one year old sister got yelled at by a lady at a Subway Sandwhich place because the lady thought she was skipping class. But my sister looks 14, so I guess it's understandable.

I hope she got extra cheese for the unwarranted harshness.
