Talking The French have taken me away!

Well sorta seriously.
I have a French Exchange Student here right now. I have been more busy than usual. Thus I am taking a 2.5 week resignation from ZU. I am trying to entertain him while doing my homework...kinda hard.

Now, in order to keep this thread within the rules and because I am curious, I shall post a question for discussion.

Have you guys ever had an Exchange student or gone on an Exchange trip. I have my student now and in May I visit his home in Tours, France. I have also been in a Scouts thing in Scotland I stayed with a scottish family for a couple weeks. It is fun. Hopefully this topic will entertain you in this time!

Re: The French have taken me away!

Heh, good luck with the exchange student. I haven't done such a thing before...and I don't think I would. Not that I don't like other cultures and ethnic groups, but I'm just not the type of person.

COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOO (can I stop now?) OOOOOOOL!!!!!!!

I SO much wish I could be doing what you're doing, man.

I've known exchange students, but never had one in my home or been one. I am hoping that I can "study abroad" this winter, though :0) Or my last summer in college. THAT would be cool.

It would be neat if you got him to register on ZU ;0) Or MrLaFazia.com, haha.

Tell him that, whoever he is (if you read this by then, of course), that Dave says "hi" and that I hope to be able to talk to him sometime.

MAN, that is COOL!!

Re: The French have taken me away!

I had two Japanese students wayyyyyyy back in Primary school, I can barely remember it. But at school I always befriend the exchange students. In fact we had a group of about 40 over this week. I got to be pretty good friends with another Evangelion fan, Hasashi, who DJs.
Making friend is fun

Re: The French have taken me away!

WAY COOL! I wish I had an exchange student, or was one. I remember last year my friend had a foreign exchange student from S. Korea come over. He was soooo cool. He couldn't speak english though, but that didn't matter, we had a blast.

Hope ya have fun!

Give him this message:

Viva La France!

Re: The French have taken me away!

Yes Skate_Mate, it is fun.

It is funny, he and I are almost polor opposites, but we get along fine. He likes 50 Cent, I like Frank Sinatra and more calm music. He is good at everything he tries...i am not. It goes on. But we get along. His best friend, his friend's host student, he and I have done quite a bit together. The other host student and I normally don't do anything together (although we aren't hostile to one another.) We have kinda been brought together. I mean we spend time after school with his friends and me.

Right now, at our school, we have 2 German exchange students. There both OK, I guess, but one is a friend with a snob. Their nice, but I hate the friend that they are friends with.

Re: The French have taken me away!

That is so cool. I wish I had an exchange student, but I don't think that would happen. Sometimes I think I want to be an exchage student myself and the place I would like to stay is Japan. I love Japan and it's culture.

Re: The French have taken me away!

Well, I live in the middle of no where so their has never been a foreign exchance student around. It would be fun to have one around or be one, and experience a little bit of a different culture for a change. I don't meet people from out of this country or ever leave. Sounds like fun.

hehe sometime I think that too. That's why I'll be going to Japan for a while later this year I'll (unfortuantely) only be going for 10 days instead of the two months like I was meant to be going for. Probably to the Nagoya reigon.

Re: The French have taken me away!

I'm going to try to get to school in france, in fact. It's a bloody big application form and need much work, but I'll probably not come in. The chances are way small, but I'll apply and try my best.

Re: The French have taken me away!

Wow that sounds awesome!
We do have a french exchange-like student at school at the moment, cool guy.
I have been a sort of/kinda exchange student (except for the fact that there wasn't anyone going to my country.. so not exactly "exchange" )
but I was in London for 2 weeks where I lived with a family and went to college, shadowing a couple of students, that was the best ^___^

Re: The French have taken me away!

that sounds cool. ive never even seen a foreign exchange student... i dont think so anyway... but if the opportunity arises that i should keep one in my home... i would pass it up. im too... lazy to entertain anyone. plus my house is full enough as is and i only have enough tvs and systems to share.

Re: The French have taken me away!

Well I am back. The French kids left last monday and I have been even more busy since then. I had finals this past week (yes finals in march...no logic, i know)...so i got those done and then I had my States debate tournement. I broke (moved on) to semifinals but didn't make it to finals. However I am back so you people can pretend you are happy again!
