I love how every thread I've read in general chit chat lately turns into a pissing contest between Asci and sugarpoultry.

Anyway, go with the Steely Dan set. Steely Dan is the ****. Though, on a related note, someone else had my Michael Jackson avatar at one point and I thought I was the losing my goddamn mind when I saw it. I thought they were my posts and I didn't remember posting them. Lols.

Awww, Margar. I love your sig/avy set! I remember you saying on several occasions that it was a badge of honor for you that you've had those ever since you first started here and haven't changed them since. And I forever associate that lovable spazzed out Zora with you! And even though your sig might look a bit crude and amateurish, I've come to associate it with you so much that its very crudeness has taken on a charm all to its own that I love. Some high-powered, fancy schmancy sig just wouldn't look right! And as someone else here has said, your sig is a many-splendored thing. (That, and also I don't know anything about Steely Dan and tend to find band sets too generic for my liking--but that's just me. )

Nevertheless, I learned long ago that the (Zelda) Universe doesn't revolve around me, and you shouldn't let my preferences or that of anyone else sway you. It would certainly take some getting used to, but don't let people's opinions hold you back. If you want an avy change, go for it!


Oh, and don't be like me. On another forum I'm on (The Hylia), I tried jettisoning poor Marvin in favor of another avy. The outcry against this change was so great that in not even a month's time I found myself resurrecting the Paranoid Android. Which reminds me, what would people do here if I ever tried to replace my Marvatar?

If it is a person, I imagine them saying it, and I imagine that the expression on that person/thing/animal/being's face is the exact emotion that they portray. That's why I generally try and pick happy avatars or avatars without mouths.

My avy doesn't have a mouth either. (But I guess he is pretty danged emotional still. )

I understand what you mean here... but you gotta remember, I'm not new around here. I've had this sig for 4 years, and a lot of people have gotten to know me and recognize the set. I really wanted to get the opinions because I value them. if you haven't been here long, then it probably doesn't mean as much to you and it seems like a noob kind of question. but in my case, I just wanted to see what people thought.

Thanks for the kind words. I like its primitive charm too! and I asked for it to be that way.

I usually feel that way too, but steely dan is so awesomesauce and totally unique, you gotta admit!

well I think anyone who changes and avy they've had for a long time should at least make an announcement so it doesn't confuse anone- like in the community thread or whatever. but I'll get over it if you change it.

I'm not really sure what you mean there... I don't see how those comments couldbe taken at anything other than face value. I see what poultry means... being a sig maker herself, she probably sees things about it that bug her. that's her opinion, whatever (I don't know WHAT about it bugs her, but I like it so that's what matters!)
