If it wasn't for Yoko splitting the band, George probably never would have gotten his awesome songs on the market, John would never have wrote Imagine, and thus Communism would still be a major world power. God only knows how many petty human lives Yoko Ono saved.

I don't think anyone can really explain the Wii. Maybe Miyamoto, but that's okay. The Wii is a lifestyle and a way of thinking. And it's not about money and popularity - although, printing money is nice - it's a voice that says, "Here I am and **** you if you don't wanna play me." And one of these games is gonna save the world. And that means wii can save the world - all of us together. And the chicks are great. But what it all comes down to is the zone: that indefinable thing when people catch something from waving their arms around like idiots. And the chicks and the whatever, all that is an offshoot of the zone.

John Simm as the Master. I like him.

Pyramid Head is seconded. I never played the game but I saw the film and he was the best bit (except for the nurses)

Re: Best Villian

Jeff, I really want to check out the old Godzilla movies, although I don't really know where to start.

Are there any that I should definetely watch, and definetley avoid?

I've loved looking through this thread, even though I really don't recognise a lot of the characters people have posted..

Still, I'd agree that Pennywise from IT is definetely one of the best villians created, although he's not my favourite of Stephen King's. That title would go to Annie Wilkes!. Even if you're too lazy to read a book, you can still watch the movie.

Kathy Bates was amazing in that role.

*shudder*

We're looking into the face of terror personified here people. Book and movie spoilers:

Spoiler (Highlight to read):
There are a lot of memorable moments from the book, most of which are pretty accurately acted in the film. The major difference is the 'hobbling' though. In the film, she places a wooden block between Paul's legs and smashes his ankles with a sledgehammer, but in the movie, she chops his foot off with an axe and then takes a blowtorch to it!

My favourite scene though, is probably where Paul leaves his room and finds her scrap book. By this point it's obvious that there isn't something right with the woman, but you have no idea just how horrible her past is until you learn about the Dragon Lady.

If we're talking about video games, then I'd probably go for Vamp from Metal Gear Solid.

Or how about Libby, from Sabrina the Teenage Witch?

Hmm, maybe Annie Wilkes is second after this horror.

EDIT: Forgot to mention Glory from Buffy.

Spoiler (Highlight to read):
Even if her weakness was a cheap cardboard hammer

Re: Best Villian

^ I remember her

Oh oh, Melisande (spelling? I can't remember) from Kushiel's Dart and the ensuing novels. She was excellent.

While we're talking about books, Kathy from East of Eden. I think she counts as a villianess.

Who, Annie Wilkes, or Libby from Sabrina the Teenage Witch?

I remember there was an episode where everybody in Sabrina's school had to make a float or something, and Sabrina's was a complete riot. Anyways, St. Mellisa Joan Heart turns around and says something like, 'Can anybody help me with this?'

Okay, now make sure you're sitting down for Libby's reply. Maybe I should just put it in a spoiler:

Spoiler (Highlight to read):
Libby: I have a box of matches in my bag

Oh no she di-n't!!

I'd rather take an Indian Head massage from Freddy Kruger than take a zinger like that.

Re: Best Villian

Vega- Good call on Annie Wilkes. She's arguably the most terrifying horror villain because she's so real, that situation with her is very possible.

I'll PM you all the stuff about Godzilla movies.

The most powerful villain? Eh, people can make such ridiculous villains these days. Like someone being completely immortal and can only be stopped by sealing that person somehow. And that's quite boring, IMO.
Oh God no, I hardly meant the most powerful villain. I was talking about overall character and their development. As well, just how evil some guys have been in fiction (the Devil's a cop-out, he's not an original creation). Guys like Robert Michem, Carnage and Alex DeLarge are definitely more villainous than Vader.

And while we're on the topic of powerful villains, if anyone posts a DBZ villain in here genuinely thinking that they're even remotely decent characters, I demand that a mod delete the post and ban the member for such heresy.

Well, Thrawn never really should have been in power to begin with. The Empire was horribly prejudice against aliens, so the fact that he was able to rise to the rank of Grand Admiral is a true sign of how great of a militarist he was. Then we get to see just what he can do in the Thrawn Trilogy, as well as other operations like in the Yuuzhan Vong War. The guy was simply a brilliant strategist and war-leader.

Re: Best Villian

Oh, ok. That gives a good enough reason to admire him.

I stick to the movies, however. Save for those awesome little "Clone Wars" shows and some of the games, I never really liked Star Wars' expanded universe.
