REAL High School (not a musical)

So, as many of you know High School can be one of the best times of ones life or the worst. I'm a junior in high school and have been through a good deal of it. The peer pressure, the expectations, the sports, the workload, the friendships, all of these combine into memories that will last a lifetime. This thread is a place to discuss these things and even seek guidance from those who have been through it already.

You forgot some: there's the gangs, the brawls, the drugs...
And WHY would you mention the word "Musical"?
Our school is brand new. I'm just going through the first year, and I've gone through some good amount of grades. Got some new friends, as well as connecting with old ones at schools and outside. It's going rather well for now.

All I have to say is THANK GOD I'M ABOUT TO BE DONE! 1 more month!

That was some stupid stuff, High school was one of the worst of times for me. Most of my friends had graduated by my sophmore year. I had missed so much that happened outside of school because, well I was in school.
Then the rumours! Geesus, memo to those still in High School - If you have a long distance significant other. You better make that clear, or it's going to get sticky.

It was the best of times for my skills as an Artist, Singer and Problem-Solver. But, any farther than that I'd have to say I would have rathered just going to work.

Because I know people who think high school is like the show High School Musical

I've been in high school for not even a full year yet, and it has made me decide that I am not going to collage.

So far HS sucks lemons. The fights, the cussing, the idiots, the rejections, so far nothing I thought of HS has come true.

HS has some up sides but it seems to be 1+ and then 2-

High School was good fun, but I do feel I could have done things a heckuva lot better. It's a really great experience, and make sure you go to as many parties as possible =P

High School's fun IMO. I'm only a freshman...but it's still cool.

High School Sucks! I miss competant teachers, smaller classes, intelligent classmates, a decent level of maturity, not hearing swears everyday, and learning things that are actually useful.

Other than German and Latin, I have learned very little I consider of use to me in High School.
-Math: why do I need to know conic sections, asymptotes, multiple ways to solve functions with powers, and how to write things in formulas that just make us do extra work?
-English: I speak english quite well, and I know the grammatical constructions very well. With a 5 minute review, I can diagram a sentence with no trouble what-so-ever, yet my honors english class is still stuck on basic grammatical constructions like clauses and verbals. I learned that stuff in 5th grade!
-Science:
Biology: One of the few interesting courses. Before evolution, I loved the class. Then I just liked it. I am one of those anti evolutionist people who believes abiogenisis is ****, and that the Earth is only 10,000 or so years old vs the estiamted 4.6 billion years or whatever it was.
Chemistry: My teacher is a moron. When am I going to need to know how to find significant digits, or how to name an ionic compound? When will I need to know if a compound is ionic, polar covalent, or non polar covalent? It's a dumb**** class.
-Art: waste of time. I knew everything we did in there thanks to 5th through 8th grade art. (Infact, I knew more than we did in there, and I believe my art skills actually went down thanks to that class)
-History: An interesting subject made boring. All I have to say.
-Languages: I actually have competent teachers who know what they are talking about and teach things that are good to know. The one good thing in highschool.

Oh, and the hallways in highschool move slower than a legion of zombie snails inching through a salt field. (and are incredibly crowded)

Note that before going to my public high school, I went to a private school that is in junction with my church. (no dress code). Except one year I went to public school and hated it. Then in high school, I confirmed my hatred of America's public schooling system.

I'm not the hugest fan. :|

High School is great even though mine is a piece of ****, love all my friends their and the teachers are pretty cool.

I had like 5 of them this past month! lol, what the heck's up with these teachers?

Not that I have anything against them, but these teachers allow no mercy! 'Tis the end! ... nah, Highschool's alright, jus'the projects I don't like

Smaller high schools are much better than larger ones, in my humble opinion. More student-teacher interaction, little to no cliques and stereotypes, and it's more peaceful.

Highschool was utterly boring. Teachers were idiots. Students were idiots (except for a select few). Administrators were idiots. I had a much better time at University where people actually knew something.

I loved my last year of high school. I had 2 classes a day, and was home by 12. No complaints here.

High school has been the best time of my life, I have no idea what's up with you people.

I'm at a school where just my graduating class is 600 kids.... that might be why I hate it so much. Jr High was good, my class then was only 80 kids.... Less kids to make trouble with

So I think I agree with Blizzaga on that opinion.
