The Answer To Life And The Universe (The #42)

What is so inportant about the number 42? I think its based on a system in which all things are based on. There was a book, but I have not read it so I know preety much nothing about why the number 42 is so inportant. Some say that is not inportant at all, but why do other say it is inportant? Like the number 7 it is a number that is to have great meaning. I understand why the number 7 is so lucky. (God, the Bible says, created the Universe in 7 days. Thus 6 is the imperfect number, this is why 666 is the number of Satan or the Beast.)

But what about the number 42?

Maybe the system of numbers God used when writing the scripts of physics had 42 digits.

I think Douglas Adams just picked the number.

Isnt that from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy? They created some super computer long ago to determine what the meaning of life was, and it came up with the number 42?

I have only seen the movie and sadly have not read the book.

But it kinda sounds like the author just picked a random number and if the number does have some significane I have no idea.

But I think it was supposed to be something funny. I mean we all have wondered what the meaning of life is(outside religon)

You forgot the part about "Everything."

It is the answer to life, the universe, and everything. I'm not sure what answer there is that is just the answer to life and the universe. I don't think there's anything especially important about it. Adams just plucked if from his strange little mind.

The Number 23 is a crapass movie. It focuses around Jim Carrey suddenly discovering the number 23 everywhere he goes.

Hell, if you count the letters (and number I guess) in my first sentence, you get 23 letters.

That was the number that broke the color barrier in baseball.

Wouldn't that mean that Dinnies start the flames and Nayrus outflame the Dinnies? And then Farores are a bunch of sissies, despite being the courageous ones?

Actually, the Dinnies are typically incapable of doing much more than annoy. When we Nayrulians bother doing something about them, it's typically for our own amusement. It's a Scientifically proven fact that Dinnies are fun to electrocute.




Anyway, this thread has gone on for long enough. You'd think that a thread about the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything would be made of win, but it isn't. I find this very disappointing. Life. Don't talk about life.
