Favourite car company

There are many different car companies around the world. Some favour style and beauty, which are mainly British car companies (Rolls Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin, Jaguar etc.).
Some favour technology, which are mainly German car companies (Mercedes, BMW etc.).
Some favour speed and flair, which are mainly Italian car companies (Ferrari, Lamborghini etc.).
Some favour more common, practical cars, which are mainly American and French car companies (Ford, Peugoet etc.).

All of the above qualities are individually very impressive, but my favourite would be the British style and beauty (yes, I know, i'm British, but that is not the only reason I love style and beauty). I mean, look at the amazing Aston Martin DB5, with it's unique shape, and the Rolls Royce Phantom (latest model). They ooze class and are great to look at. Therefore, out of all of the car companies, Aston Martin wins my vote. It has the DB5, the Vanquish, the DBS, and much more. And Aston Martin finally reaquired independence (YYYEEESSS!!!). More British car companies should reaquire independence, and continue making beautiful cars. But enough about me, what is your favourite car company, and why?

What is this? There's no Porsche as an option on the Poll! BOOOOOO!!!!

In case you couldn't tell, I think Porsches totally rock, especially the Boxster, Carerra, and 911 Turbo.

Where's the Volvo?

You can't beat the 240. Not only is it awesome, it's the car I'm about to inherit.

Sweet.

Re: Favourite car company

Well, I am thoroughly disappointed, because both Cadillac and Lincoln are missing from this list. Both companies produce exceptionally beautiful, well crafted luxury vehicles. Just look at the MKR. If that isn't one of the most stunning concept cars I've ever seen in my life, well, then damn my eyes.

Anyways, from the list I'll choose Jaguar. Sure, they were notoriously troubled cars back in the 70's and 80's, but since Ford acquired them they have made drastic improvements in quality and performance. The only thing that troubles me is the new direction they're taking with the XF. It's trying to hard to look like a Mercedes, and that makes it a downright boring car to look at.

The XJ series Super V8 is where it's at. Lightest and longest extended wheelbase luxury car on the road. This vehicle is an absolute beast. It can smoke just about every other car on the road, including the German lead-sleds, luxury rice-burners and even many dedicated sports cars.

Yeah, the Jaguar is great. There was not enough space for Cadillac or Lincoln in the poll, but for American cars, Ford is there. By the way, I don't really like Cadillacs or Lincolns.

I hear Jags are still unreliable, but they are beautiful cars though.

I like alot of cars on that list but I chose the more realistic route, and picked Toyota.

Jag still isn't quite on par of the reliability of some other American luxury vehicles (specifically, I'm thinking of the Lincoln Town Car), but they have improved by leaps and bounds, and have finally come to a point where it doesn't break every time you take it out for a spin. At least, the reliability of Jag outpaces Mercedes by a mile.

Actually, Ford is probably one of the more reliable cars manufacturers out there. They have once again begun stepping up to the plate and improving the quality of their vehicles, specifically with their Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan models, whereas Toyota's reliability has been slipping a little as of late.

But for the most part, you're right. American cars aren't nearly as reliable as their Asian counterparts. I blame it on GM. 11 of the vehicles they offer are in the "Least Reliable" list. Just shameful.

Re: Favourite car company

Toyota has served me well for years. Got my used 1991 Toyota Corolla seven and a half years ago, and that thing is still driving smoothly, despite being a 17-year-old car.

I'm also partial to Volkswagon (not listed in the poll), if for no other reason than the kickass VW Beetle.

Truth be told, however, all these car companies are contributing to the pollution of the world, so that's definitely a concern.

If they discover how to store Hydrogen inside cars (or something like that), then it would be possible to make cars which emit nothing but water!
