Thanksgiving!

So Thanksgiving is almost here, and I was wondering what everybody did during this short holiday...I....

Food

We pretty much have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, turkey, rolls, potatoes, sweet potatos, and for dessert pumpkin pie. Sometimes, we may have some Flan (for those of you non spanish folk, its a type of caramel custard) and thats about it.

Fun

Wll, me and my family pretty much stay home and play several games together. Watch Tv and movies and basically have fun together.

Thats my thanksgiving, how do you celebrate yours?

Re: Thanksgiving!

We usually have to eat: Turkey, stuffing, pumpkin/banana bread, cranberry sauce (the canned stuff is always the best) and relish, mashed potatoes, jello...I can hardly remember the other food we have so much. But my favorite is the Cranberry sauce for I have no idea why.

We go to our grandparents house on both sides of my family, one on Thursday and one on Friday and we usually talk. The kids (I guess I\'m a kid) play around or go on the computer. >_>

By the way, I am Thankful for the holiday of Thanksgiving itself. I it one of my, if not my favorite holiday.

Re: Thanksgiving!

We traditionally go to out Grandparent's house. Our Grandpa makes the Turkey, stuffing, gravy, and the potatoes, Mammie (Grandma) makes Banana pudding, my Mom makes the green bean casserole, My Aunt Cheryl makes Pumpkin Bread, and dinner rolls, I don't remember what my Aunt Trina makes though. Then we have a Pumpkin Pie, and a Sweet Potato Pie for dessert.

The whole family from my Mother's side comes.
Grandparents,
Both Uncles and both Aunts,
All 14 of my cousins,
and sometimes my Mother's Aunt will come, and my cousin Stef's inlaws.

We used to spend Thankgiving with my Dad's parents, but they live in Illinois. Grandpa on my Dad's side made Duck one year instead of Turkey. It was pretty good to. I would recommend someone tries that.

After the eating we all just hang out in the living room or out on the porch and talk, or watch something on t.v.
All of the kids run around in get into things. Usual family gathering stuff.
Sometimes my Aunts will look over catalogs for Black Friday.
Thats about it, really.

Re: Thanksgiving!

I'm rather antisocial and ended up playing Warcraft in my room until dinnertime last thanksgiving. I also eat like a bird.

Re: Thanksgiving!

That's adorable Misanthrope. =D

Suprisingly I actually do celebrate thanksgiving since I've been living in the US for the past 10 years. I go to my aunts and eat a lot of food, while I think about how stupid the pilgrims were.
