what instrument do you play?

i thought this might turn out to be a nice thread. we could say what we play and what were doing in our life involving our instruments. well i play tuba and just auditioned for honor band.

My main instrument is the bassoon. Right now I'm taking lessons, and playing in the concert band. Next year I hope to be in the orchestra and play in a woodwind quintet as well, that'd be fun.

I play the alto saxophone for fun. I'd love to march it next year, but I don't have a working one and that's kind of a problem.

Otherwise I'm learning the piano, (being a music major and all!) and in the past I played the trumpet and clarinet.

XD Sorry about that. I just like typing Bassoon like that. ^_^ On to the point at hand, I play that marvalous instrument know as the Trumpet. I can play music of said instrument on the piano, but it's a little more difficult. (Damn stubby fingers >_<) Currently, I play in both my school's Concert Band, and the Multi-Award-Winning Jazz Band. Tomorrow, we are going to record The Star Spangled Banner and O Canada for a baseball game which we are going to "play" at next Friday. First highschool in our city to do such a thing too. ^_^

After that, in April we leave for Philidelphia (sp?) to take part in (and hopefully win) the Compitition there. >_> After that, I'm not sure where I'll be going with my Trumpet Playing.

Im getting better at guitar at the moment... I rythm for a band and lead the vocals. I;m not good enough to do anything worth it now but at the rate I'm learning should be fine... Kinda funny because I never was the musical person... Just picked up a guitar way back in april and now I started to sing too :O Oh well its a new challenge

I play clarinet. Though I quit marching band/ and symphonic two years into high school. Why? I had a life.


Anyway, we had t-shirts for each section, and it was mutually decided that whoever had the most discretely hidden sexual innuendo saying on their t-shirt would be the best instrument section or something. Trombones won, for obvious reasons if you think hard about their instrument name itself.

I could go on and tell you all of them, but some of them were just really discusting haha...but ours for clarinets was pretty simple (which is why we didn't win). "We use our hands!" and also "Brass blow, we finger!"

I want to play the bass guitar, but I play the guitar. I'm not even that great at it though. I just need some money for a bass.

Trumpet. I'm thinking of switching to the Horn, though.

I play flute, and I finally got into my schools symphonic band. But I feel dumb in there because there are so many people that are way better than me.

I want to learn to play the violin though. Its just so...pretty.

Right now marching band is taking a lot out of me. They have been pushing us so hard. It wasn't like that he last three years. I really hope our show ends up as good as it was in the previous years, but I am having doubts.

I play guitar, and I'm currently saving money for a Les Paul.

The axe I play. I've been playing bass for a good 3 years now and I get better with each passing day. Actually, it's more like improving everyday. Hell, the latest song I'm working on for my school is Bachs Cello Suite No. 1, a very difficult piece to play, but so far, I have the first 9 measures or so of the song nailed down.

My weapon of choice is acoustic guitar. I have two, a Yamaha and a Taylor. I picked up the guitar because it was a part of my middle school music program, and loved it enough to stick with it. I also have an electric, but I much prefer to play acoustic, though I still play the electric from time to time, if the music I'm playing suits it better.

I play guitar for fun, as a hobby, though I've played a handful of shows, mostly neighbourhood gigs. I enjoy performing, singing and such. Apparently, my ability to play guitar and sing at the same time is something that not everyone can do easily, which I learned from my cousin, who is a much better guitarist than I, but can't sing while he plays.

I also play piano, keyboards and the like. I'm pretty ok, and generally just play them for fun or if a song I'm playing calls for it. I took lessons for years and have continued to play since I stopped.

To a lesser extent I can play bass, mandolin, and drums, though those are all self-taught, so I'm not that proficient. I can actually pick up instruments rather quickly at this point in my life, especially any rhythm/string instrument like guitar/bass/mandolin/banjo/ukulele/etc.

I took clarinet in grade nine band under the promise that that halfway though the year I'd get switched to saxophone if I got good enough. I got damn good for having played only four months, but still didn't get upgraded, so I dropped band the next year like a hot potato.

While my arsenal doesn't vary as much as Galedeep's does, we are similar in that we play acoustic guitar. I had an old acoustic which I can't, recall the maker. But I liked him, I named him Benjamin. Then recently I bought a new guitar, my Ovation called Icarus, posted a pic of him in the Scrapbook. I play for fun, but I want to write music, I've started writing and have written a few songs, but I want to record, play shows, stuff like that.

My friend and I are working on it.

I can only play an electric piano. I started in 4th grade i think and stopped about few years ago. I still remember almost everything i learned, mostly due to the fact that we had a great music teacher back then.

And i used to be ale to play flute and drums too, but electric piano is where my "talent" is at.

I'm a percussionist. I've done just about everything in that category for concerts, marching, etc.

These days, I'm mostly doing the drum set.

I've played trombone for a little over 10 years now. I'm very good. I was in All-County Orchestra in 8th grade, and All-County Band from 9th - 12th grade. I was also in All-District Band from 9th - 12th grade and All-District Orchestra from 10th - 12th grade. I've also played in the community band for five years.

I play the piano. I'm self-taught, and have been playing for four years now.

i play guitar, and flute. Guitar is beter. This is my fourth year that i play guitar.

Whee, violin. I've been playing it since third grade, which I guess makes it be about... 7 years. Well, nothing too fancy for me with it. I play in the school's orchestra, nothing much more then that. Of course, it's one of my favorite classes right now, although I might stop playing next year because of scheduling junk.

Other then violin, I can't play much of anything. In Middle School we were taught alittle bit of guitar, which I hated because it hurt my fingers. In Elementry School they tried to teach us to play the recorder. And that I almost remember. And I know alittle bit of piano, but not much more then Mary had a Little Lamb and where all the notes are.
