What grinds your gears?

What are some of your pet peeves? What is it that people do that annoys you to no end?

For me, it'd probably have to be:
  • People who talk on their cell phones in restaurants. I mean, come on.
  • People who think their "life sux" when they go to school, have a roof over their heads, and eat three square meals a day.
  • People who walk too slow.
  • People who yell out their personal lives on cell phones like they think people even care.
  • When people touch my hair. :/ Get your own hot hair to touch.

Re: What grinds your gears?

- that my father in law contstantly ignores my presence in the house

- people who cut themselves and declare 'my life is awful, I am going to kill myself!' and take a day off school because their boyfriend/girlfriend they had been going out with for at least a month, dumps them

- PC and MAC fanboys...they just really grind my gears so much I bang their heads together hoping to knock sense into them...

- people who always think they are right, even when blatently wrong, and keep arguing that they are right (I'm looking at YOU Jordan16!)

- chavs that get all up in your face because you just replied to an insult they threw at you

- when musical zombie makes a thread along the lines of the one I was going to make :glare

Re: What grinds your gears?

1) People who use chatspeak in forums.
2) People who sue companies for stuff that was their own fault. (eg. suing Mcdonalds because you got fat off their food.)
3) Console fanboys.
4) Children. (children meaning anyone under the age of 12.)

I CANNOT STAND...

... when I put a loaf of bread in the fridge so that it keeps longer, and then water condenses inside the bread bag. This really drives me nuts. I mean, it's enough to put me over the edge. Soggy bread. :glare

Re: What grinds your gears?

  • People who walk to slow on the way to the buses. >_>
  • When water condenses inside of bags or tin foil, freaking nasty.
  • People who constantly follow you around thinking you're their friend.
  • People kicking the back of my chair in class. <_<
  • People talking with their mouthful, or generally any other sound made by people when they eat.
  • Not fully pushed-in chairs.

Re: What grinds your gears?

* People who encourage you to tell them your problems to get them off your chest, then start weeping about their own problems (literally) when you talk to them, leaving you feeling worse than before and feeling bad for them.

* People who shout out comments to characters in a movie/TV show about their shortcomings, what they should do/have done, why they do what they do, and so forth. Come on! Just enjoy the show like the fiction that it is, will ya?

* People who think you're making up words or using a word wrongly when it's in fact them who lacks said word or alternate definition of a word in their vocabulary. (Example: I said "pray tell" and received a lecture about how "praying" is when you talk to God. )

Unfortunately, the first two are my parents' traits and it really kills me. The third isn't as annoying because I know I'm right.

Re: What grinds your gears?

*People (my dad) who are watching TV with me, get a phone call, turn down the TV so no one else can hear it, and then when you try to turn up the TV they say you have no respect for them when they are on the phone.

Go into the other room dad!!!

*Tailgaters – I’m driving, I have a comfort zone if you tailgate me that makes me nervous and go slower. And also I am looking for a free way to get that really big dent out of the back of my tailgate. Your insurance company replacing my back end when I slam on my breaks to miss a squirrel and you were following two close would do the trick.

Re: What grinds your gears?

-smacking on gum

-eating with your mouth open

-telling me what to do

-making me redo things (I haven't played OOT in years because of it. Only way I'll play it again is if I forget what I did, and I have photographic memory)

-accusing me for something I didn't do

-sitting too close to me.

-Crybabies

-people who stinks

-teachers who teach the class like we're idiots

Re: What grinds your gears?

* my mom does not like house noises like thumping and everytime I make a noise she asks me what it was and I can't play ddr with her in the house because it is 'thumping' and she despises it.

* people who talk meanly about others or are mean to others to make themselves feel better or just for fun

* match.com...and some people's obsession with it. (someone in my family is VERY attached to it)

* myspace chain bullitens that say you don't believe in god or whatever if you don't repost

* people who think they know everything and are cocky about it

* bad table manners

* the adults who sterotype all teens as thinking they know everything, ungrateful and annoying

Re: What grinds your gears?

People that are ***holes on the road.

Yes, just go ahead and pass that old woman who's slowing down to pull into her driveway, go right ahead and drive sixty miles an hour while missing a head-on collision with me by two feet!!

Instances like that make me question getting my license.

Re: What grinds your gears?

I'm annoyed by the public obsession with what other's are thinking. Ironically, I care very much about what other people think about me.

I also hate hypocrites. Yeah, it's a confusing life we live.

Re: What grinds your gears?

- Snoring, and my dad's sneezes. Nose noises are awful.
- That feeling when you think you have a bug on you, but you know you don't.
- Those days where it looks like it's about to rain the entire day, but then it never does. It's a real waste.
- People who expect others to know what they're thinking when plans are being made.
- When someone bugs you about something enough that you actually don't want to do this because they've been saying it so much.
- Those people that will IM you as soon as they get on, but then don't have anything to say beyond a nice greeting, and then go on to periodically (every 5-10 minutes) IM you again, either in greeting or saying something like "what's up?". (I'd like to point out that with some people this isn't as annoying, as they normally provide good conversation)
- People who swear without there being need to. Saying the F-bomb instead of saying sex, etc.

Re: What grinds your gears?

When my friend calls my house eight times a day to ask me to beat Cyrus, catch Dialga, and give him my Rayquaza. Really! Who asks for such things without offering anything in return?
