Pani and Holic and Spork Meet or The Slightly Less Grande But Still Awesome Meet Up

Today, myself, Pani and Holic all met up in Brisbane today at the Royal Queensland Show, or, as it's more colloquially known, the Ekka.

I happened to be in town on business. My company had a display stand at the show, and it seemed a prime opportunity to meet up with Brisbanites. It took a bit of working around illnessess and Holic's hatred of the Ekka, but we met up just after midday today. A fun few hours were had, with fairy floss (cotton candy) being consumed, Dagwood Dogs were devoured (Pani not so much ate hers as got the sauce all over herself), barnyard animals fed (though Holic was looking for the handwash area pretty quickly...goat saliva does that to you), showbags bought, stuffed animals won, chairlifts rode on and slides slid down.

It was great to meet up with them and hopefully we can do it again some time when I'm in Brisbane (hopefully when Supanova's (the pop culture convention) around!)

I'll let Pani and Holic post their own synopses of the day. Meanwhile, here's some pics I took. Holic took a few more, so she should post them soon.

If I'd known where you were, I'd have gone and found you as well, I went on the Sunday with a friend of the family. I'll come again on Friday if I have some monies left! (Even though I'm not as desirable to meet up with as Charlotte is >_>)

Pani's recount!

Me and Bex got the train into the Ekka and promptly realised we had no idea where to find Spork. We called him and told him where we were, but he didn't really know either. Luckily, a friendly and convenient giant map came to save the day and we managed to find our way to Spork's stand, where he got his people to cover for him and we were off!

Aside from candy on the train there, me and Bex didn't eat anything before we got there so Spork treated us to dagwood dogs. Within 5 minutes of getting mine, I was covered in sticky tomato sauce. :D which was actually pretty gross, and I *****ed and moaned a bit. xD anyway, we went off to go see Bex's only weakness then (fluffy wuffy adorable barnyard animals!). So we walked around, passed a guy in a neon green suit who tried to sell us some liquorice, and Bex paid $2 for a cup of feedy stuff to give to goats, sheep and other assorted weaknesses. So we trekked around and followed Bex as she fed sheep and lambs and goats and ducks and what I think was a llama.

There were some ducks, and we all agreed that it would be incredibly awesome if a couple of them climbed up on the little model windmill in their enclosure and started brandishing knives around. Not that I don't like ducks, but.. come on, that would be awesome. And cute.

I think after that we decided to head over to sideshow alley and basically just walked around aimlessly in the sun watching rides and little sideshows before we actually did anything. We all ended up playing some sideshow game (none of us won) but then Spork and Bex played the clowns and gave Pani the prizes, a plastic keychain and a tiny purple stuffed dog (:D :D :D).

Then we walked around a bit more, and ended up back on the other side of the Ekka so we rode the chairlift over (Bex almost lost her pimpin Mario hat) and hung around and Pani and Spork went on a big slide and Bex took photos, and Spork played a game involving darts and dartboards and spinning and won another thing he gave to Bex, and then we really didn't have much else to do so we walked back to Spork's work stand and all said goodbye.

I may have missed some there, it is now late and I'm having trouble remembering exactly what we did.

Well doesn't that seem like a nice little meet-up. Pani and Holic are both looking nice in those pictures, but I think I speak for all when I demand to see the Sporkster!

Damnit, Bex said she'd come up here and meet me. ;_;

On the other hand, both her and Pani do look hot and I now envy Sporkster. Now if you had brought Lilah and Azzy, then it would just be super awesome.
